Not tryin to be a smartass Godfather1! But if Jeff Landry hates jbe, why did he push the “write in ballot”?

Not aware of that. And btw, I’m not any big fan of Landry’s, either.
I do know that if it came down to enforcing this “order” of JBE’s, Landry very likely wouldn’t do it. At best, he would take his own sweet time about it.

Yep so if he did ignore the governor and it was dereliction of duty what would happen to Landry? It's a voted not appointed position .. would that provide any safety from any action attempted by JBE? No I don't know how this works.

Yes he did. I watched it.
Basically said I have the Fire Marshal and the DHH to enforce it for me. “Places need permits to operate.” His exact words

Seem to me the AG has discretion as to what he’s going to enforce/prosecute and what he isn’t.
That was sure the Democrat argument at the federal level from 2008-2016.

Oh please.......THIS!
Several bar and grill places as well as restaurants here in Metairie are putting tents out in their parking lots with tables. I predict some are going to have some good crowds. Not sure how it's going to work with people standing and drinking in the parking lot, but if things get crazy, I'm sure we will hear all about it on the news or through social media.

Then the governor would sue the Attorney General.
And if the governor found a sympathetic judge and the AG still refused, then the AG would be in contempt of court.
This is what’s known as a constitutional crisis.

Did y'all see what Michigan did? Legislators were wearing bullet proof vests and it seems that in Michigan guns are allowed in the capital.
In case you missed it

How’s he going to do that? By his own order all the courts are closed.
Incidentally, it’s not going to come to that. JBE has already said he’ll use the state agencies to revoke licenses/permits.
And if he tries to get too dictatorial, the La. legislature has a GOP supermajority. They’ll slap him down.
You’re in Texas; stay in your lane.

Well then, there you go.
My responses were based on whether a lower government body issued orders that defied the governor.
They can do so, but it sounds like the governor is two steps ahead.

Until the legislature body checks him.

They need to do that now. I'm sick of this BS.

The Attorney General would sue the local governments for defying a lawfully issued gubernatorial order, unless the AG decides to ignore the governor (which would be a dereliction of duty and purely political).
Surely the AG would have some leeway in not having to be lock step with the governor. Otherwise what's the point of having it as a separate elected position and not appointed?

Well, except for the part where the governor publicly claimed that his order was only following the task force recommendations.
Those recommendations expire at midnight. Doesn't seem so lawfully issued now does it? The AG has the duty to take the governor at his word, amirite?

Yeah do that! Destroy your career.

JBE has run his last race, so doesn’t care.
He’s trying to make brownie points with the national Democratic Party at this point. Either for a cush post-gubernatorial gig with the DNC itself, or to be set up with a spot as a lobbyist.
