It will never go away, there will always be detractors. I said "a lot" of it will go away. You have to admit that Trump doesn't do himself any favors with the media. Playing the game he's playing definitely isn't going to make them go away.

Agreed, it will never go away and I'm fine with that. I want them to expose themselves as much as I want politicians to expose themselves. No, he doesn't do himself any favors but at this point I think we can agree that he is doing it on purpose because he at least thinks it's beneficial for him. I may disagree with his tactics but I think he's still trying to use them/expose them as part of the problem and in part, he's correct.

If you get offended by a joke you are a snowflake. Period. The hypocrisy in this thread is funnier than the jokes

You really believe he looks at his rivals as family? I was a Communications major and worked in radio for several years. Trust me...nobody in that business looks at others as "family". It's the most back biting, two faced industry I have ever been a part of.
Whatever you want to call it, his statements obviously are supported by CBS because they made it to air.

So is he giving his audience what it wants, or is he defending his "family"?
Both. Trump says what you guys want to hear. He also bashes companies for hurting his family's business.

Not surprising that you don't see the difference.
Also not surprising that you don't see the difference in how a comedian and the motherfricking president should conduct themselves.

Reverse the two roles and you would be all over a conservative that said that about Obama.
Wtf? Obama has had all sorts of "gay" accusations thrown at him, and they weren't even obvious jokes! I think you guys are confused as to which side has the most snowflakes!

Fair enough but you shouldn't hate the person simply due to differences in political agendas.

In a way, Colbert is a hero and a villain.

He helped keep Hillary away from the WH but that gave us Trump.

I want to thank him and punch his nose but I'm uncertain of what order those two should be.

No checkmate. You admitted your hypocrisy and we moved on.
Problem is we shouldn't have moved on, because there is obvious hypocrisy on both sides here. I admitted it, you haven't.

You are white knighting for Colbert. That would indicate some level of hero worship, no?
Call it what you want, but I'm here to point out that he has a right to say whatever he wants about the president. I'm also here to express my OPINION that the highest office in the world should never, ever stoop to name-calling.

I will be glad to when I display hypocrisy. There's no doubt that you'll be able to tell me to admit it at some point.

He either does it on purpose, or he just can't help himself. Have you seen the interview where he called the show "deface the nation"? It is clearly very easy to get under his skin, so much so that he very childishly just walked away from the interview and pretended to be working on something.

Correct or not, his tactics need work IMO (and apparently IYO, too). I can think of a hundred ways to do it better, if he does, in fact, have some master plan to "expose" the media. Childishly calling them "fake news" or tweeting shite like "so and so said such and such... bad, very bad" is not very effective. He should counter the "fake" news with well thought out arguments to discredit or disprove it. Or, preferably, he should just do his job and stop giving them ammo.

I love it, defend the motherfricking president for his juvenile remark on national television by saying "hey look this fricking comedian is way more juvenile than him". Keep it coming, guys. Comedy gold in here.

You truly do not see the difference in calling a political talk show by a different negative name and calling the President's mouth a holster for Putin's cock? Really?

You wouldn't have a problem with Bill O'Reilly saying that Obama's mouth was a tampon for Merkel? Of course you would. But here your conscience is suspended because the vulgarity is directed at Trump.

Don't allow your emotion and hatred to overwhelm your sense of decency.

It's hard to feel sympathy for these assholes when they refuse to admit the media bias.

It actually generates sympathy for Trump, when not that long ago most of us wouldn't have wanted a POTUS to talk like that.

Now I basically want him to destroy the media.

You are defending a childish remark by the president by pointing out that it was countered with a more childish remark from a comedian.

Probably. But I can tell you didn't watch the video. It was not even dressed up in a joke. If you watched it, you would have seen that he was offended by Trump and attacked. He didn't even pretend it was a joke.

Link me to my defense of Trump.

All I said is that the left is a bunch of hypocrites because of the homophobic reference.

Of course I do, I just find it funny that conservatives are being butthurt snowflakes over a joke. But do you truly not think the president and a comedian should be held to different standards as far as the words they say?

I don't know how to be any more clear about this -- I don't give a frick what anyone says about anything. But I do care when my president says stupid, childish shite, and I think he needs to be called out on it MORESO than a comedian needs to be called out for a joke, no matter how offensive.

He's a comedian on a comedy talk show. Only an idiot would actually take anything he ever says seriously and only a snowflake would get personally offended by it. He's a jester. Never take a jester seriously just laugh at the jokes or tune it out. jeeze

You guys should be so thankful to have this safe little corner of the internet.

You have been complaining all day about something most of you in all likelihood didn't even see.

Congratulations to Mr Colbert for becoming everything he claims to loathe about Donald Trump.
