Trump is scared of attacks. Feels entitled to the nomination. Demands others to drop out. While DeSantis stepped into the ring, knowing the headwinds he’d be facing, inviting the attacks, willing to go to the mat, because it’s the right thing for the country and he wants the fight.

About 45% of the party realizes he’s a weak general election candidate. The other 55% don’t know yet, and Trump seems to be afraid of them finding out by standing on a stage with DeSantis.

Mr. Trump. Over halfway through your Presidency you appointed Bill Barr as attorney general. You have repeatedly cited fraud as a cause for Joe Biden’s win and the attorney general you appointed did not hold significant investigations and stated no large scale fraud. You have since called him a coward who was scared of being impeached.
What have you changed about your vetting process to ensure that you appoint like minded and courageous individuals?

Im going to suggest that you earn the nomination by getting the people to vote for you.

There is 100% no upside for Trump attending these debates to have all of the other long-shot candidates gang up and attack him (knowing that’s all they can do to try and resurrect their campaigns).
