Yet, some group he commissioned and probably paid for thought he was a shoe-in for 2024. Everyone else knew it was a bad idea with Trump still gunning for the nomination.

Now, it looks like he also Jindal'd himself out of 2028.

He has some of the worst advisors possible. No one who wants to win should ever hire them

No he wouldn’t. Trump is going to lose in 2024 and he’ll run again in 2028 if the corrupt criminal Democrats haven’t put him in a prison in Siberia.

..at that point, he would have lost the support to secure the nomination after back to back election losses.

He and DeSantis would have joined forces and it would have been DeSantis in 2028.

It's strange that even in a scenario that has the country rejecting Trump twice (it's more if we count midterms) Trump would still be needed to help DeSantis.

At what point would Trump, for the good of the party, just step aside and stay out of the spotlight?

And if Trump wins his VP will be the 2028 GOP front runner. Stop with this bullshite that DeSantis just had to wait. The second he was no longer in the Trump orbit the same nonsense attacks that Trump and you all lob his way today would happen then.

Trump will not win in 2024. Biden will win in a landslide. The Democrats have 270 electoral votes locked up every time. The GOP cannot win.

Nah, the Trump element just exposed why a conservative can't win the GOP nomination.

DeSantis is just fine. It goes one of four ways:

1. He wins the nomination
2. He loses the nomination and Trump loses. He goes back to FL and continues to kick arse and is the frontrunner for '28.
3. He loses the nomination and Trump wins. Trump reaches out to him to mend fences because DeSantis can supply some valuable support for him and he has the best intellectuals in the GOP on his side. He's still a strong contender in '28.
4. He loses the nomination, finishes out his term and gets out of politics. Then he spends the rest of his life making bank and banging his super hot wife.
