Stop bringing facts into fantasy land.

What’s wrong with you?

Desantis failed his legacy in FL if hasn't been prepping someone, not his wife, to do this. He put himself in this drama.

This was after Desantis had dropped out of the race by the way. Might have been a contributing factor as to why people didn't vote for him.

The race was already over before Florida for both Nikki and Ron. Diehard supporters voted for both Nikki and Ron and she easily beat him in his home state.

He just won a huge fight with RINOs over a weak immigration bill that gave power to a pro-illegal immigration Ag Commissioner.

I don't understand how an informed person would have missed that.

Curious what Ron’s approval rating is currently

UNF poll from last week

quote:

A poll published by the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) on Tuesday found that President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis maintain net positive approval ratings among registered voters in Florida.

The survey of 871 active voters found that 47 percent viewed Trump favorably, while 45 percent held an unfavorable opinion. One percent of respondents claimed they have never heard of the president. DeSantis, meanwhile, received a 48 percent favorable rating, with 43 percent expressing an unfavorable view

quote:

Trump remains a dominant force among Republican voters, with 94 percent of those who supported him in the 2024 election reporting a favorable opinion. DeSantis, who is in his second term as Florida governor, also retains broad support within the state’s Republican base, with 91 percent of Trump voters indicating a positive view of him.

quote:

As Florida moves toward the 2026 gubernatorial race, the poll also gauged early perceptions of potential candidates. First Lady Casey DeSantis led in name recognition and favorability among the field, with 30 percent of respondents viewing her favorably (57 percent among Republicans) and 22 percent unfavorably, though 33 percent indicated they had never heard of her. Other potential candidates, including Rep. Matt Gaetz and Attorney General Ashley Moody, saw mixed ratings, with Gaetz receiving the highest unfavorable rating at 39 percent.

“Casey DeSantis was the top early pick for potential Republican primary candidates when we asked back in late 2023, albeit with only 22% support,” said Binder. “She likely enjoys some favorability by association as Florida’s first lady,” Binder commented, “but most of these potential candidates suffer from a lack of recognition–some suffering more than others. That said, I expect we’ll see a few of them become household names by the time the August 2026 primary rolls around.”

RDS has no known treatment. Good luck with bringing facts into fantasy land. That’s not appreciated here. Makes things inconvenient.

That was a warning that things could go off the rails quickly if the next Gov is in the back pocket of Big Weed/Ag

When Ron is left to his own devices and can make independent decisions he come through bigtime. Ron demonstrates brilliance and authenticity when left alone. When his decisions are influenced by Casey is when he struggles.

Buut a stupid decision, especially one based on personal greed, is a stupid decision.

Wait, so the sitting governor of the state is SUPPOSED to endorse a person who hasn't even announced that he is running yet all because Trump said some nice stuff?

Seriously?

Gawd, bunch of rocket surgeons in here.

It also undermines the idea that Ron has a super red legislature that makes his job easy.

So the real world means the ignorant masses. That makes sense. You’re right. If that’s the definition, he is probably right.

I mean, that's a fine line dude. Being "ignorant" of very-online drama that is probably somewhat real to insiders but heavily exaggerated and dramatized by influencers on X and attention-seekers elsewhere - is that a bad thing?

You should shut up and let the citizens of Florida sort this out. Do you live in Florida? If so, I apologize.

"DeSantis has declined to support any candidate yet for Republican Gov of Florida".

Just like the Lara Trump thing, I expect the Casey DeSantis thing to completely die out - largely because there was never much to it anyway and it was fueled largely by people who for whatever reason (attention, mostly) want a DeSantis-Trump split.

Much like racism, the demand for Trump-DeSantis drama greatly exceeds the supply.

Donalds went BLM/woke on Ron's curriculum reform. I don't blame Ron.

Before Trump endorsed Byron it was reported by The Floridian that Ron and Casey rushed over to MAL to intervene before Trump could make his endorsement of Byron. I guess Trump already made up his mind and it was too late for him to change. Trump probably already committed to Byron before Ron and Casey could intervene.

Could be I really have no insight.

But all the stuff on Casey is just so fleeting and sketchy, rumors on rumors, and it flies in the face of everything else Ron does as a politician/manager. 99% of the time what I've seen is just hinting and suggesting and most often from "sources" that have a poor credibility history filled with trying to sow division between camps.

But it is his wife, so who knows. And if he tries to usher her in as a major candidate I'll have the same frustration with it as anyone else.
