If you read my posts throughout the board, I consistently "shite on" posters from both sides who scream about topics they don't have a clue about. I can't stand it, if you don't know what you are talking about, refuse to educate yourself, AND argue with posters who have superior knowledge on the topic, just shut shut up.

I've explained the process and why the exception rule is irrelevant here UNLESS the FBI actually proactively says they want those privileged materials (which as of now they have not) , and what the possible charges they could be investigating against Cohen that would not touch the President at least 10 times on this board and yet we still have people arguing this or that nonsense position.

As the Professor says, this raid WAS a big deal because of the way they conducted it, and because normally an attorney's office is sacrosanct unless it is thought that there is SPECIFIC evidence in it (meaning normally the FBI doesn't clean out an attorney's office like they did here) BUT the FBI will NOT just be able to peek through the confidential material at their leisure, there is a process in place to protect it.

Not in any way, shape, or form. That is why I would be in court today requesting a federal magistrate act as the clean team, I don't trust the FBI at this point. Sad as that is.

Duh because he's a civil libertarian defense attorney who doesn't believe the government ought ever be allowed to go into an attorney's office PERIOD.

On the practical side though, he certainly said much the same I have, the FBI investigators will NOT get to look at the stuff that is privileged without going through a process (unless they just ignore the process, which they probably won't but they could which is why Dersh is concerned)

Hey dummy, a guy could be a mass murderer and the FBI still has certain protocols and standards they are supposed to meet AND laws they are supposed to follow. And in this case , yes lots of folks have been arrested for crimes that were either discovered or created from this investigation, but that isn't how our legal system is supposed to operate. We don't investigate people until we get some convictions. We investigate CRIMES until we figure out who did it.

Imagine if I was a cop and I just strolled up to your house and said "Russian collusion" and started rummaging through your house until I found your pot stash and arrested you for that . Your attorney would have a field day with me, and rightfully so. Yes okay you broke the law by having a pot stash, but that sure didn't justify my behavior as a LEO.

Does the FBI get to kick your door down in the middle of the night and rough up your kids just because a judge who hates your politics signs a warrant? When you protest, can the FBI just point to this giant ambiguous SC and say "but muh Mueller referral", and you have zero rights because no one knows exactly what the scope of this council is anymore?
