people don't care to go vote as much when they know their state is already decided? those people in new york had a lot of extra free time in 2020 due to being on lockdown by their state.

There were a million less votes in new york alone.
In 2020 new york locked all their citizens in their homes due to covid so more people probably voted.
This time they were allowed to go to work and stuff so people probably figured the state would go blue anyway so why wait in new york traffic/stand in new york lines
