losing 30% of them is a death sentence and Trump has jumped to 36% approval, the Dem Party is a dead solider......"Dead Man Walking"

Approval rating is not the same as casting a vote. Up or down are the only choices.

When the choice is between Trump and another candidate, the percentage that will vote Trump will be much lower. How much lower will depend on the candidate.

If it’s 50% lower, the Democrats lose. It needs to be 80% lower for the Democrats.

The underlying study (published in the Journal of Politics) goes into great detail about sampling and the like. Most would find it boring, but give it a look.

Who thinks that "studies" are actually representative of reality and what several hundred million people actually think?

No kidding! Some people actually believe polls and "studies" are factual. How dumb can you get??

People might be going by state or local and not national.

Yes, once the Dems get full throated about their newfound courage to be the open socialist commie frickers they are, the numbers will go up

Who thought this?

Republicans thought 38 percent of Democrats were gay, lesbian or bisexual, while the actual number was about 6 percent.

I'm sure we missed that percentage by 62 percent.

One thing we know for sure is, anyone who belongs to the democrat party is a commieshitass.

Several reasons. One is it’s not polite to discuss sex, religion and politics in decent society. Two most people never speak to or interact meaningfully with anyone who isn’t remarkably similar to ourselves. Three a gracious plenty of folks never spend more than a few weeks of their lives more than a couple of hundred miles from where they were born and almost no time outside the region they were born in. Fourth is we have to go out of our way to see or hear anything that doesn’t mesh with our world view in the age of information. Fifth goes along with #4...talking heads on both sides enforce stereotypes because there’s heaps of money to be made in making people feel warm and fuzzy.

Wouldn’t it be great, though, if Republicans DID make 1/4 Mii a year? That and 36% of Democrats being gay is beyond stupid. Those kinds of misconceptions are just crazy on both sides.

That wouldn’t be statistically impossible with the US demographics and party size.

People in the south think this because at the state level in places like Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, that number is pretty close to the truth.

Actually, in the case of anticipating the previous Dem Black vote this goround, you've got it reversed.
