90% of Democrats are ugly. I estimate this based on the last 20 years of watching their street protests on network TV. And since network TV is left wing I don't think they are intentionally filming the more unattractive Dems.

That's true, but guessing demographics have nothing to do with that statement...supporting clauses do not align with conclusion

It seemed more of an “observation,” but a case could certainly be made that I should have realized at a younger age that “Texas is safely red, and you should have voted LPA sooner.”

Reagan was “small government,” even if his social policies were a bit more SoCon than my ideal. I was also only 20yo at the time. All my friends at TAMU had similar views (small govt fiscal conservatism, with more liberal social views), and we were convinced that the GOP was moving that direction. We were wrong. Plus, I don’t think any of us had even HEARD of the LPA.

Bush-41 was not remotely a NeoCon. He was the epitome of a Main Street Republican, and that wing of the party is most-closely aligned with the libertarian wing. Plus, I had the pleasure of spending several hours with him while he was VP (a small group dinner after he spoke at TAMU in 1984), and I liked him personally.

Bush-43 did surround himself with NeoCons, and he was actually not my first choice in the 2000 GOP primaries. But he won the nomination, and he was a Texan. Team Tex, I suppose.

The study was much more in-depth than this summary.

The article made a passing reference to the “border separation” issue, not really relevant to the OP.

How come all these “both sides” thread always without exception end up being critical of the right?

convinced yourselves that this is true, but also have convinced yourselves that YOU are the majority of the GOP.

And the majority of you mentally deranged leftists actually believe that the “majority” of Americans view President Trump as doing a bad job. You people think that “YOU” are speaking for all Americans.

It all depends on who is polled and where the polls are taken. As was proven in 2016 the media is a propaganda machine for the left wing nutjobs and the polling, when done by the liberal media, is greatly skewed and falsified to fit a liberal narrative.

I saw almost a dozen posts taking shots at the Left and no shots at the Right. Please expound.

Because what the left wing nutjobs want for America is socialism, free crap for everyone so long as the left doesn’t have to foot the bill, and open borders just to see America fail. In other words the left is completely wrong and full of shite as usual.

There, I just expounded.

I'm thinking that part of the reason Dems have an erroneous view of conservatives is that the media and the Democratic Party is always telling each subset of America how much conservatives hate them.

I will use small words. He said thread was anti-Right. I said most posts were anti-Left, and asked him to explain his claim.

You went off on a rant on another issue.

The use of several multi-syllabic words was unavoidable. My apologies.

That is a distinct (and interesting) issue, versus the existence of longstanding wings within the GOP. There are PLENTY of GOP voters who now support Trump, but do NOT hate McCain with fervor seen on this forum.

Let's not pretend the hate isn't justified, for instance McCain in 2015:

Today, I was proud to join my colleagues in Congress to continue the fight to repeal and replace Obamacare. Since its enactment, Obamacare has been full of empty promises that have only made our nation’s health care problems worse. I hear from Arizonans every day who have been saddled by rising premiums, increased health care costs, and reduced access to doctors and hospitals.

McCain in 2017:

Where do you GET this inanity? I have said REPEATEDLY that I support about 80% of Trump’s agenda.

Here is a newsflash ... a rational person can do that and still criticize the other 20%. A sane person can support the bulk of an agenda and still dislike the MAN intensely.

Not every GOP voter has to have Trump’s orange balls pouncing against their chin.

McCain is far from the only person who dislikes Obamacare, but thinks it would be unwise to repeal with a devastated health insurance industry and no plan to replace it. Tge GOP should have been ready with bothe the “repeal” AND the “replace” on Day One of the session. They were the failure point in this matter.

Let’s not derail further into Obamacare, OK?

538 just wrote a story about the study. I also linked to the underlying study (published in the Journal of Politics)

Because for all that posters like the OP pretend to be something they’re not, inevitably, at some point, they can’t help themselves and give themselves away.
