Yep.

$600 was their opening offer because they figured they could scale back to this.

Problem is that this is still WAY too intrusive. And honestly it would be intrusive if the amount going through an account were ten times that annually.

It's unacceptably intrusive for the reporting requirement to exist at all, regardless of threshold. If the GOP gets behind this, I hope they never win another election, because they do not deserve it.

If one is a “wealthy tax cheat”, you are either not making bank deposits (safety deposit box full of cash) or you are laundering money so well that it looks like legitimate business income.

They don't have a say in this matter. It's part of the massive reconciliation bill that no GOP in either chamber will vote for. The dems can pass it without a single GOP vote.
