Depends on the narrative they want to push:

Andrew Cuomo after Texas:

Andrew Cuomo after New York:
quote:

Below are the full remarks of Cuomo and de Blasio NEW YORK GOV.

ANDREW CUOMO Thank you. First, our thoughts and prayers are with those New Yorkers who we lost today. It reminds us all how life is.

We pray as a statement of our basic humanity, to extend our altruistic self and to express compassion for others . It’s a very basic human instinct , an expression of dignity and respect and extends across all human cultures. One does not even need to be religious or particularly spiritual to engage in this simple act of human decency, one just needs to not be an arrogant and self- absorbed nihilist.

Anybody who choses to condescend and hurl Progressive platitudes about the irrelevance of prayer to people in their time of suffering and despair is likely to be a huge part of the problem. Anything besides sincere and patient thoughts and prayers of compassion is misplaced and a sign that anger and arrogance has replaced fundamental decency.

Bottom line, people who don't believe in the power of prayer don't appreciate/understand the power of prayer of people who do.

It wasn’t the gun in his hands, it was the evil in his heart that most facilitated the killing of these 26 people.

Things were already in place to prohibit him from these purchases however the Air Force didn’t file the proper paperwork. A clerical error prevented the law from working effectively in this situation.

He was a dishonorable discharge a domestic abuser (cracked his step-son’s skull), a sex abuse suspect and a pet abuser who should not have been allowed to legally own these weapons.

Scoffing at the power of prayer is something I certainly would avoid. Generally, my assumption is that these comments are coming from the non-religious, agnostics or atheists.

You must accept that if a man mutilates his penis he is now consider a woman! Even if he doesn't mutilate his genitals and just starts wearing a dress he is now 100% a woman in every way! How dare you not accept that you biggoted cishet shitlord. We must be tolerant! You must be tolerant! You will accept the beliefs I deem important!

What? You're praying? I don't accept that. You should stop. I don't have to tolerate that

I’d ask the angry Progressive cynics to just view it as a highly rational expression of compassion and empathy, an acknowledgement of the universal suffering of Man. Completely separate from any particular religion - and just a reminder that we all share in their pain and that we hope they are able to find understanding and healing .

The Dems worshiped Obama. What did that get them?

The Dems are right. This country needs true faith and repentance. Unfortunately the D's don't understand that and just wanted to attack Christians and other theists while prepping another push for failed gun control policies.

Is it also fair to say that many of these mass murders have something in common, the lack of God in their lives?

I’m sure the shooters mother prayed many times for her son.
How did that work out?

So the Mother watched her son rant, abuse his wife and child, and did nothing. Yet its God's fault.
She had to know that he was crazy, hated folks, and owned a weapon, when did she or others take responsibility?

Praying is vastly more effective than any gun-control legislation.

quote:

Trump says it's a mental health issue, and just this last spring he signed a bill reversing a law which made it harder for the mentally ill to acquire guns.

Actually he didn't. The bill, which had the written support of the ACLU and about a dozen mental health organizations, simply reversed a rule change by the Obama administration that denied due process to a certain group of veterans. I know you are terribly stupid but you could at least do better than blindly parroting Daily Kos.

When are prayers ever "enough" in life? Will someone fill me in?
