This should help them with the midterms.

Democrats propose tax hike on guns, ammo weeks before midterm elections

quote:

Nearly two dozen House Democrats are proposing higher taxes on firearms and ammunition and want to link some firearm-related taxes to inflation, just weeks before the midterm elections.

The "Gun Violence Prevention and Safe Communities Act," from Rep. Danny Davis, D-Ill., and 21 House Democrats, would increase federal excise taxes on all firearms and ammunition. It would also raise taxes on importers, manufacturers and dealers of firearms, as well as any person or entity that transfers ownership of most firearms.

Democrats said the bill is modeled after federal tobacco taxes that generated revenue to fund programs aimed at reducing tobacco use. The gun tax bill would raise as much as $38 million per year and direct that money toward a new Gun Violence Prevention Trust Fund.

Last time I looked smoking wasn’t a right not to be infringed on in the bill of rights.

They sure know how to title bills. Wondering if this will have the same beneficial impact as the ‘Inflation Prevention Act’

Have to fund the $12 billion we are sending to Ukraine. Bipartisan support.

WASHINGTON, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Negotiators of a stop-gap spending bill in the U.S. Congress have agreed to include nearly $12 billion in new military and economic aid to Ukraine, sources familiar with the talks said on Monday, reflecting continued bipartisan support for the Kyiv government in the wake of Russia's invasion.

right, because most gun violence is committed by the people that actually purchased the gun. They need 38 mil more to enforce existing laws? How about putting DAs in office that will place and keep criminals in jail.

We have given more than that to Ukraine in 6 months. Screw the uni-party money laundering scum.

ETA - I was thinking Billion, but Million? 38 Million? Nancy spends more than that on flights to Cali and her Ice Cream supply.

Acknowledging young black males are violent and out of control would be a great start. It’s not like there aren’t crime statistics to back up that statement.

These geniuses can just send me $1mil for that info and save the tax payers a lot of money

This seems like something that will disproportionately affect minorities and low income households. Democrats are so racist, why don’t they want minorities and low income households to have guns and ammo?
