"Private paramilitary actors, such as the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, pose a serious threat to democracy and the rule of law,” Sen. Markey said in a statement. “We must create new prohibitions on their unauthorized activities that interfere with the exercise of people's constitutional rights. The forces of bigotry, hatred, and violent extremism must be stopped for the sake of our democracy.”

This same dumbfrick openly condones the actions of groups like BLM and the anqueefers, who quite literally pillaged entire neighborhoods, burned businesses and property both public and private, committed mass organized violence and looting, murdered people and even seized public property to set up their own "autonomous zones" during the summer of 2020.

This is the most blatant hypocrisy I've seen from liberals in... well, at least the last few hours anyway.

Coming from the people who let Antifa and BLM mount a real insurrection while encouraging them, of course, they only mean conservative patriotic organizations.

Hitler had these kinds of laws, but only for those who opposed him.

Are you a totalitarian and ignorant of our laws?

No. I simply make the distinction between the militia and an armed mob.

Do you?

Why are they worried about militias?

Only corrupt people in power have anything to worry about

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Perhaps a discussion along these lines is in order.

Maybe not Congress, but a well regulated militia is subordinate to the civil authority (usually the governor) and has an established command structure.
Nope. "well regulated" means "ability to drill, march, and perform maneuvers". See the Baron von Steuben book that was popular at the time.

Nope. One of the key purposes of federalism was to negate the need for each state to have a standing army. That's why the Constitution guaranteed protection of all states both collectively against invasion--something it's completely failed to do.

Raskin is one of my favorite members of Congress. He never yields to Repubs during hearings, but Repubs always yield to him. He tows the party line like a boss. Repubs could learn a lot from Mr Raskin

Its time to form that Militia bound by our 2nd amendment right from God. So frick you Mary McCord. You're not the rights bearer.

Most Americans foolishly think our rights are given to us by the government. That's alot of the problem.

This is the excuse used by authoritarians throughout history to disarm the population and subjugate the masses.

You really are a goose-stepper at your core.
