You think a Republican would lower utility costs?
The Republicans in Georgia just did.
I'm paying about 30 dollars less per month for electricity.
I just sent in a check for $90.00 and compared it to $120.00 for the same amount of electricity during the same time last year.
Our state gasoline tax reductions have helped bring down the price along with supply chain improvements.
Now they are talking about ending all primary resident property taxes across the state by 2032.

Curious, what’s your take on how to address it? Make the data centers pay more? Try and get nuclear up and running asap?
If they can get the SNR's up and running (small nuclear reactors), that would be very helpful.
Too many people are sucking up natural gas and it is going to have impacts downstream:
Data Centers
Combined Cycle Power Generation
LNG
Feedstock for chemical manufacturing
Feedstock for steel making/industrial manufacturing
Consumers
That is going to drive up natural gas costs and affect what plants are doing which means capital projects will be cut. also means consumers are going to be asked to foot way too much.

Thats pretty funny…
Which party proposes "green energy initiatives"?
Virginia residents will continue to experience a sharp increase in their electricity bills based mostly on “green” energy mandates in the run up to this year’s gubernatorial race.
Earlier this year, Dominion Energy—the state’s public utility headquartered in Richmond—submitted applications for rate increases to the State Corporation Commission, the state regulatory authority overseeing utilities, that will begin to show up on monthly bills.

Can any of the red counties in VA secede to West Virginia? The people that work for, or are contractors and consultants for the FedGov leviathan need to stew in their own garbage.

You wanna name the party that has a majority of the people that are always in favor of decommissioning power plants? The party that believes power generation by wind and solar can run the entire US grid? Hell.... the one that has wanted to ban something as small as gas stoves while they themselves enjoy the use of them?

I’m with you I just think the red tape (which I read is years) surrounding SNRs is a huge problem. In the meantime we’re kinda f***d.
I also think it’s a much bigger not just VA problem. Energy demand is exploding everywhere (AI, automation, data centers) and nobody in the US can build the market solutions fast enough.
China is (currently) beating the shite out of us in this regard. 10k Twh vs 4.3k Twh (2024 stats). Going to take us a long time to catch up, and way longer to get a competitive advantage.

They’re only doing it in response to Trumps totally unprecedented call for mid decade/census redistricting.
VA is one of the states that has a reasonably fair representative map, which every state should have, but don’t expect them to do nothing.
They’re gonna make it 10-1 Dem to counter what red states are doing. The judge from tazewell blocking it won’t hold, it will get sent to state supreme, precedent is clearly on Dems side in this one.
Your redistricting complaints in VA are entirely Trumps fault.

yeah here's the thing jethro, i just scheduled my electric bill $92.06 that's on a 4/3 3000 sq ft house on a half acre lot built in 1960.
electric bills typically go down in the winter when coupled with gas heat. which mine is.
i suppose she could have electric heat, if she's a loser like you in an apartment she probably does. the price of coal is trading significantly below it's march high and the price of natural gas is trading well below it's november high.
you are genuinely stupid aren't you.

Because you cannot build actual reliable power generation in the US without limp wristed greenies jamming it up in congress and the courts.

The old adage is……people get the leaders they deserve….
Spamburger has just started …look for costs up, taxes up, crime up, services down….to a massive extent….imagine Mamdni as a governor of a state….

Democrats
Progressives
Democratic Socialists
Marxists/Socialists
Communists
They just want to get married like everyone else.
Men get pregnant
They are always moving harder left but they will tell you it’s not happening.
Vile people
I see my little puppy is online and following me around downvoting as usual.
That didn’t happen for several months. Welcome back, spot.
