The easiest path forward would be to have an independent counsel (or a group of such to expedite the process) review the files to protect victims’ identities, and then release the information on the perpetrators regardless of politics and power positions. Obviously, still not an easy path, but ripping the bandaid off and letting the chips fall were they may is the right thing here.
In my opinion, those that don’t support such a move are either acting to protect themselves because they’ve got something to hide, or protecting their side out of a tribal mindset.
