His comment is even dumber than the post title suggests

Agreed.

He said narco traffickers are not in those boats. The actual traffickers hire people to run the boats, and the people in the boats are just trying to make money.

I think we need to define terms. I think a "narcotics trafficker" is "a person who deals or trades in illegal drugs."

That includes the ones who grow/refine/manufacture the substance, those who transport/smuggle/deliver it, those who sell it, those who enforce the operation/provide security, those who gather/offer intel about law enforcement's movements, etc.

Just because the boat drivers are independent contractors rather than working directly for the manufacturing company doesn't mean that this is not their industry. It clearly is.

Huh?

How can you say that when Trump just pardoned a world-class drug dealer? This has NOTHING to do with drugs.

Is blowing up the boats the best way to handle it? I don’t know the success rate of traditional interceptions are but if it’s that much of a difference then bomb away.
Well think about it. I looked at the cost of high speed engines similar to what we see in the videos run 70k plus each. Video I saw had 3 of them.

That’s probably 300k minimum every time one of them gets blown up. Add in millions of product on each of them too. Figure a minimum of 10 million in costs/lost revenue for each one that doesn’t make it.

How many of those will it take for them to lose before they decide it’s too expensive?

Still have a cost. They don’t exactly grow on trees.

What an obtuse a-hole!

That's like saying pimps aren't involved in prostitution. It's just the way they make money.

True trying to find an article about boat dealerships on getting robbed.
Was surprised the number of targeted specific motors.

I'm very much in favor of interdicting drugs being smuggled into the U.S.

But "narco-terrorist" is a nonexistent term fabricated to justify the Administration's actions that are quite likely illegal.
We're not at war with Venezuela, and I guess they had to think of something
to hang their hat on...
Meanwhile the drug kingpin who was president of Honduras receives a presidential pardon. Go figure

In this post, VOR claims the Trump admin coined the phrase “narco-terrorist.”

In Peru.
In 1983.

I don’t know anything really about extreme high speed marine engines but I would expect it’s not a huge market nor a lot of models.

If a significant number of them are stolen that’s implying this is a far bigger problem than some think
