What would make it fraud IYO?
The money being spent outside of the purview of the statutory or executive authority.

I bet there are hearings going on right now that would be about legit fraud
I'm sure there was some miniscule amount of fraud. As I said, it's theoretically possible, but nothing has been shown yet.
We've gotten wasteful, lawful spending like the "Politico" talking point, and then complete lies like the "Ben Stiller got paid millions" bullshite. Since both are engineered towards emotional reacts from the echo chamber, they didn't even know the difference (Because it didn't matter because rage was the goal).
Regardless, all of this focus on $40B/year is, as I said earlier, an inefficient distraction from the tough discussions that are required.

Some money has been spent on nefarious things. That’s corruption, waste, fraud…..

He is setting up the narrative that the Republican Speaker Mike Johnson will continue to fund waste, fraud and abuse which will piss off the MAGA base and fracture us as a party.
We aren't that stupid. Well, not all of us.
Calm down.

Most of these contracts are done on the agency level and not specified in legislation. If you have control of contract/ grant allocation and check writing you can shut much of the problem.
If USAID is buying La. rice or Ks. wheat and feeding starving children then great. No one should want to pay NGO’s to expedite illegal migration. The gay/trans shite is a hell no.
All expenditures should be transparent and administrative expenses available for the grantees. It is not a charity if the directors are making more than the president and forty or more percent is administrative expenses. I wonder who these NGO administrators were giving political donations to.
The issue with this is that it will be budgeted. Once budgeted "it must be spent". Schumer argued it was a constitutional right once congree approved the funds and the OMB could not deny payments.

Then they're being silly.
I've only been posting about it unequivocally and without changing my stances for almost 20 years.

DOGE has done its job. It has exposed the corruption.
Not really.
It's educated people who are political neophytes a bit, but "corruption" hasn't been found yet.
The largest "find" that those who are DOGE-adjacent are claiming is information from the GAO of the Biden admin, in a report using data from the various IGs that already existed to perform this function
Absolutely DODGE responsibility ends with finding, extracting, and presenting the wasteful and fraudulent spending. DOGE has zero authority to do anything about it. That will be up to those whom tax payers have elected to do so.
More than ever, voters are paying attention. If Congress fails to make any meaningful changes, I believe new and better representation will be voted into the seats of those that continue to stand in the way.

Must be spent
I understand that Congress controls the purse strings but there has to be some discretion. The founding fathers would be horrified that we borrowed approximately 25% of last years budget without a war. Many of us have been in a spend it or lose it situations. Discretion is one thing but throwing gold bars of the titanic is another.
Budgets are made in the previous year and many things like fuel change, sometimes drastically. Cuts and discretion have to have some place. Schumer has been in favor of cuts when Clinton was doing it. If the law says you must continue paying scammers and 150 year olds, which I doubt, then the law should be changed. Anyone voting against that will be easily primaried.
