One of my good friends I met in college was a black guy. Very successful in his business but hung himself over a failed marriage. Awful.

I still think about him and wish he would have called me and maybe I could have helped.

I am sure we will hear about this one as some racist folklore in a few years.

All they had to do is make a few sm posts and a few worthless msm statements about it being racial. Now all future searches via AI , grok and the like will perpetuate the fake narrative. Dems will chalk it up under the racist white supremacist column.

Where did the rumors even come from? Before an autopsy or coroner report was done no less? I guess whoever discovered the body?

But when you consider African American males hardly ever commit suicide (compared to Asian/White males) it is a little more suspect.

I've noticed that in stats before- it's curious how blacks have the lowest suicide rate.

Even though it's low, though... it isn't zero.

He also timed it during a big school celebration.

Anyway, it's sad to see someone so young end it all before their life even really begins.

They have it on video, no need to stir up racial strife.

People dont kill themselves because they just give up. Sometimes they do, but not always. Just like dimentia, alzheimers, etc etc... the brain gets sick... and it loses its ability and desire to live.

The brain is a fascinating thing. Meditation is more beneficial than some pharmaceutical drugs, when it comes to treating actual physical diseases. We do not yet fully understand the brain, but suicide should not be viewed as someone with a healthy brain making a poor decision. It's more than that at times.

I am aware of that. I cannot fully grasp it because I'm just one of those people who is inherently wired to say "someone might take me out, but I'll NEVER take myself out" and I mean it.

I did have a brief moment in my life after a surgery once, though, where a medication I'd never taken actually gave me that "suicidal thoughts" side-effect that is always on the disclaimers. It wasn't like direct suicidal thoughts, but it was a sense of unexplainable and overwhelming dread and hopelessness. Thankfully I had the thought to call the hospital and they put me in touch with their pharmacist and a chaplain, and they contacted my wife (gf at the time) to get to my home immediately and be by my side until the meds wore off.

Never want that feeling again. Ever. I'm a fricking big, intimidating and headstrong dude, and in those moments I was weak, small and terrified like nothing I've ever known. I have a great sympathy for those who live with imbalances that cause these feelings frequently.

You willingly abandoned your kids. I'm not gonna waste my time missing you. You didn'twant to be here. I'm going on with life".

Then I feel bad for having thoughts like that.
You should feel good that you have the maturity to filter out positive and negative thoughts accordingly. You can't control every single thought that pops into your mind, but you can control whether you dwell on it, get emotional about it, or immediately dismiss it.

Statistically, most black men who commit suicide use a firearm. Anomalies do happen, though.

Why would someone that young kill himself. I would love to have those years back and a fresh start.
I'd agree. The mistakes I made would be replaced by newer and different mistakes, but I wouldn't do it if I could because I would never have met my wife or had my kids.
