Defunding the police WOULD BE a good thing.

The more I think about it the more I think it would be great.
People will feel froggy, they'll think they'll be able to roam free and do what they want but in reality the good guys with the guns, you know who I'm taking about, will set them all straight in about 3 days.
When there are dead bodies piling up in the streets with no repercussion for the good guys, punks will be dead, and the virtuous will be vindicated.
I mean wouldn't this be step one to taking America back?
Basically militia would be in full effect. Man I would like to join, its the moment Jefferson said we would have to do.

Most people affected by this live in very strict gun free zones. But I guess that won’t be enforced either?

Aside from the big city hoods, most of America doesn’t need nearly as many police as we currently have. Outside of the hoods, cops mostly write speeding tickets and harass regular folks.
You would see a massive increase in all violent crimes in the hood. That said, it’s them who want less cops who why should anybody give a shite?
Reduce the number of cops and be more generous about open carry and Stand Your Ground laws and we save a bunch of money. Basically a return to the days of the Wild West.

The "wild, wild west" had very few "official" law enforcement agents of the state, and yet it was not really all that wild, or really all that lawless. Many modern estimates and studies now place the rate of crime, and particularly violent crime, as less than that of modern American cities.
IF (big IF) there was to be a vacuum of state-controlled law enforcement agents, SOMETHING would rise up to replace it. Humans will not exist in a state of anarchy and something akin to the Pinkertons or wild west-style posses would take over enforcement of whatever laws were deemed necessary to enforce.

A 1880s western style of govt, worked for them. Jails will be empty, you obey the law or die, pretty simple.

I don’t think you know what defunding means. It doesn’t mean dissolving (not that there aren’t calls for that)
I wouldn’t have any problem if police acted more like the FD or EMS and respond to calls instead of patrolling
