Anyone else feel sorry for Karmelo? I mean, the poor kid was just starting his life of crime. All those robbings, muggings, and other murders he won't be able to do now. Tsk, tsk.

Yes.. a whole miserable bloc of twitter.

In Texas, the jury does the sentencing in murder cases.

I don't know which is worst for Stabby... jury or judge... they both seem to have more than a little disdain for him.

If you weren't paying attention, their witnesses could have easily been the prosecution's.

Didn’t one of their most favorable literally say Karmelo was at fault at the end of the day?

I guess they had the one at least saying he invited him under the tent - which is better than nothing but…

It was always an open and shut case.

Or maybe the citizens of Frisco are just tired?

Re: the passion TX Law.. Is that generally heat of passion?

Catch your wife in bed with 3 men, lose your mind? Passion of protecting your child without thought type of thing?

One and the same... The "I dapped him" kid said Karmelo was wrong.

No idea.

I seriously doubt the jury cares- the absolute atrocity they had to sit through, the lack of remorse by KA, the quick verdict return... the only thing that might soften hearts is his young age- but he's a year older than poor Austin will ever be- so maybe not even that.

Is it true a rival gang in prison is waiting for him? That would be an interesting greeting.

Yeah he was shown the so called grainy video and recanted. I think many in defense recanted seeing the autopsy photos and his knife stabbed heart.

If that was my child...

I heard tell something about AB[three leaf clover]....

Karmelo has slits in his right eyebrow- google won't tell me shite, but I look at lots of mugshots and slit eyebrows seems to be a theme..

New irony to chuckle at, the top post, dunno why it double embedded:

The mere intent to penetrate and strike the heart is enough...

No way a human leans into that penetration.

I don't know but involves reacting to provocation initiated by the victim and not having a cooling down phase before reacting.. The problem with the way it reads and why I think this jury rejects it is because it shifts the blame from the convicted to the deceased. If the jury believed the victim provoked the attack, then why would they have been so quick to convict for the more serious charge of murder?

The other problem is that Texas law regarding provocation is clear that you lose your right to self defense if you goad someone into attacking you so that you have the pretext to attack them. Armed with a knife and daring the victim to find out seems pretty damn provocative to me. It is also clear that in order to regain your right to self defense, you must exit or retreat. KA did neither
