Put some functions in every state. Spread the tax dollar influx to all states. Lobbying would become outrageously expensive and would hopefully diminish. The myriad of social interactions would be greatly reduced, poor states would use the needed tax dollars, Congress would only be in town during sessions. Real everyday people would necessarily have more direct access to bureaucrats whuch would lower misconceptions.
I love this idea. Govt employees would hate it, which is another plus.

I like your idea. It makes perfect sense to me because I made my career in the US military, which is decentralized with units in places all over the world, not just coagulated around Wash DC.

This is a bigger deal than people think. Right now these lobbyists have access to everyone they need to see with a simple uber ride. They can meet in person where anything under the table can be discussed without a digital record of the meeting.

I understand the “bused in” analogy but I just disagree that all these areas would be corrupted. I think wed see these agencies go in the opposite direction. The corruption feeds off each other. When someone sees another push the limits, it emboldeneds them to do so. Separate these agencies from each other and we may see improvement.

I also agree that we should just abolish these agencies...but being pragmatic I just don’t see the political will to do so.

So if it's so obvious to you, then clearly it's not that difficult to track or monitor in the first place. Of maybe it's not as necessary as you think since a lobbyist doesn't have to make any illegal deals to corrupt someone who is already corrupt.

But I'm sure the hundreds of billions of dollars it will cost to do this process, will make up for whatever under the table deals some guy in Alabama is so easily aware of. And I'm sure those lobbyists will have troguble getting around the super fast moving changes the government makes since the government is known for its speed and efficiency.

The 10th amendment is essentially gone. I blame it on a slow erosion caused by judges who legislate from the bench.

Most likely because our country's founders didnt have to worry about intercontinental ballistic nuclear weapons.
As a small child, I often wondered why our capital was not located in Kansas. Then, I realized that the country once consisted of 13 East Coast former colonies, and that DC was essentially the midpoint of the 18th-Century transportation net. I was about 8yo at the time.
