If it was a penis flyover, you and Tarzana would be thrilled.

I would love to see flyovers all over this country on our 250th. Low enough to rattle windows and remind civilians we are here to protect them!!

What an uneducated take.

Every flight hour in every aircraft model has a known cost to operate per hour of flight time. This factors in all costs including maintenance and manpower.

Every month each squadron is given X hours to fly and its all budgeted based on funding per qtr. If one squadron can’t meet their hours those are transferred to another by leadership. At the end of the month and quarter all hours in each model will be close to budgeted.

These flyovers are part of training. Each squadron will treat just like every training mission. There is planning going on with aircrew and maintenance with ground crews. Then they have to work with other services if flights overlap.

If they were not doing this event they would use those hours for another. End of month they will have flown same hours.

There is zero extra costs. I speak from experience.

Military air shows usually some of the planes will fly over nearby parks and stuff throughout the day. If you’re in the area, you have a good chance of seeing them flying around.

That’s awesome and all, but I gotta admit that if lived in DC it would get a little annoying after a while.

Damn I wish I could be there to see this. I'm sure watching on a screen won't do it any justice. Just absolutely badass

Seeing the B-1, B-2, and F-22 doing low afterburner flyovers would be borderline orgasmic. No B-21 Raiders is odd though

Aircrews have to have so many flying hours per month, daylight and nighttime.

Hope this helps.
