Serious people should be ready to OWN what they anonymously post on public forums/social media. That will tone down the rhetoric and somewhat the incivility and gas on the debate fire. I think it's inevitable as the Left will respond in kind.

But I would hope that at some point things change and I would not lose my job for believing or saying the wrong thing.
I would support a person being fired for celebrating the criminal murder of any person. Right or left.
It’s not some “bridge too far” to ask people in society to act as if they are in society.
It is in no way analogous to firing people for their views on political topics.
That is your limit, but if we are not protected, someone else may thing using wrong pronouns is a bridge too far. Can you be sure your limit will be the one enforced?
What if someone kills the guy arrested for killing Charlie and people were happy about it. Should they lose their jobs too? Or would that be different?

I was until a few days ago.
Now I think it's necessary to make the enemy live up to his own rules. If people are afraid to call for the murder of those who disagree with them, that kind of thinking will no longer be normalized.

The medical field hate is definitely concerning to say the least

I’d say the same thing if someone assassins Biden or AOC and conservatives celebrated.
Exactly.
Nobody on the Poliboard celebrated the Charleston massacre. Not even TIGRLEE. Plenty of conservatives were glad he got his arse kicked by another inmate.
Conservatives disavowed the Paul Pelosi hammer guy and pointed out that he lived in a hippie commune.

No. I can’t. Do you think if we don’t notice the people celebrating Kirk’s death that the Left suddenly becomes conciliatory? Where have you been? In a coma?

It is patently different. Celebrating the death of a criminal is very different than celebrating the death of an innocent. And we should still be careful about celebrating criminals’ deaths.
Penrod put it well. These are simply reinforcements of boundary lines of polite society. Celebrating the murder of an innocent person because of their beliefs is outside the boundary lines of any polite society. Asking “who’s next?” Is outside those boundaries.
We don’t gain by not asking for those boundaries of polite society to be enforced. We lose.
We also don’t gain points with our political opposition. They will not suddenly “play nice” because we extended grace that they did not deserve.

What worries me is who controls the information. What if someone takes a quote of yours out of context or manufacturers one in AI with your name.
Who do you contact. Who's gonna listen.
No one will care.
just hope you're not collateral damage.

Yep, hell there was a lunatic posting here a few days ago celebrating that this kid-"Big Balls" was nearly beaten to death.
Out all of these people!
Out all of these people!

I don't have an issue with outing them to their employers.
I like and agree with this mass reporting of reprobates to their places of work.
I think a searchable database has the potential to backfire.

I'm not because this is grassroots from the people. The people have first amendment rights.
If this came from the government I would be against it.

The right didn’t fetch this genie from the bottle.

It is different to you and I. Not to everyone.
We will enforce our view while I'm power they do likewise.
My take is that we can, if we want to, protect people's jobs based on their beliefs and expression of those beliefs. I don't think we can pass a law that protects jobs only for people that say things we find unobjectionable.
Such a law would protect everyones view.

I'm not so sure this searchable database is grassroots... the Libs of Tiktok, yes... charliesmurderers.com yes... I'm not as sure about this though.
We have this out there within the same few hours as Kilmede's unfortunate comments about killing the mentally ill.
I do not want this shite going sideways.

You keep playing the slippery slope argument.
We already slid down the slope. The Left did that years ago.
There’s no slippery slope left to traverse. Get over it. The genie isn’t going back into the bottle. The Left doesn’t stop doxxing righties because they don’t get doxxed.
