Why? It's never been acceptable to celebrate assassinations.

And Kirk’s wasn’t either
This was obviously false from the moment the original news came out.

I’m not. Ostracization of people who encourage violence is one of the only things we can do to curb this murderous culture.
This is us exercising our freedom of speech.
Let’s not forget how much the left tried to get people fired for something as benign as saying a joke about Asians or speaking out against covid masks.
frick em all. Not one step back.

Of course it isn't acceptable.
Of course those celebrating need consequences.
Of course no one will misuse this easily searchable database and visit violence or death on people in the database and thus derail a righteous movement.

How many Charlie Kirk’s have to die before you figure out who we’re dealing with?

Well, we will not condone those acts of violence if they should happen.

Where does it end. Fired for being pro life or pro choice, maybe your position on global warming will get you fired.
Imagine getting because you supported Charlie.
I get the payback angle, it makes sense.
But I would hope that at some point things change and I would not lose my job for believing or saying the wrong thing.
What this sets up, in my opinion, and it likely will not be tomorrow, but at some point if you believe Christianity and the teachings of Christ and the Bible you will be fired and unemployable.
But, payback feels good today...

We're not leftists.

These aren’t people at a dinner party expressing their views. These are people on a public platform with a metaphorical bullhorn screaming their opinions and begging people to look at them.
Do you go into your place of work, stand up in the middle of the office and start talking shite about your boss, clients, and coworkers because you have a right to your opinion? No, because actions have consequences.
Don’t do or say stupid things if you can’t deal with the consequences.

I would support a person being fired for celebrating the criminal murder of any person. Right or left.
It’s not some “bridge too far” to ask people in society to act as if they are in society.
It is in no way analogous to firing people for their views on political topics.

just don’t think these people should be trusted with your life or the lives of your children.
They want you dead.
So a nurse at a pediatric center saying they hope Charlie’s kids die too should no longer be a nurse. I’m sorry. That’s just the minimum.
Hadn't thought of it this way.
I do think medical people and educators impacting children should be held to a different standard
Not tied to your post, but I can't recall how the right reacted to Ginsburgs death. I know she want murdered but still curious. How would people react if Fauci or Pelosi was killed
