I still can't believe a two time Obama voter and an ex-CIA guy got Rush Limbaugh's chair. Rush would be rolling over in his grave. I don't trust Clay Travis as far as I can throw him.

Trump supporters.

Yeah. You guys are a type. The lifted trucks, deep knowledge of handguns, American flags, and Carhart gear tend to give it away
I have none of that.

I met one person last year who moved from Texas to Maine. She hated Texans.

Anecdotally, it doesn’t seem like a common phenomenon unfortunately. I grew up in very liberal circles and I don’t see my old classmates moving back to California, or Massachusetts. They’re going to Colorado, Texas, or Tennessee and they’re staying.

The New Yorkers do appear to be going back to NYC though.

If you look at how CA votes it seems to get bluer and bluer each year and more progressive to boot. Granted the state has always been a magnet for liberal whackoos and illegal immigrants, but the voter data would seem to indicate that the Republicans are leaving. Or leaving at the same rate as the liberals.

The real problem lies in the numbers. CA has 40 million people. Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, Idaho, New Mexico, etc only have 1-2 million. It doesn't take a lot of transplants to move the needle.

My parents moved from California in 1980. I was 10 years old. We would all be considered right wing extremists, along with much of the family we left behind in northern California.

You need to make Democrats uncomfortable moving to these states.

Strict abortion laws are probably the one thing that would do it. Overt displays of religiosity would help though.

They wouldn’t feel comfortable in places where people are openly and happily Christian.

I am in real estate and build houses in south Florida. Literally all I have met are right wing.

Also, 3 new neighbors this past year from Cali, penn, and NJ all trump also

For what it’s worth seems like those losers were too scared to move to Florida during covid cause of the media. Actually worked out for us

Does anyone have reliable data on this? We often say that people from these states move out and still vote for the same shite that laid their previous state to waste. That may be true, but there also could be an influx of conservatives from blue states into red states.

Any sources/data?

Zero states are becoming more conservative. The closest would be FL. With the influx of illegals it cancels out any good people moving there.

The Texas republican party did a study on this as I recall and the majority of Cali transplants were to the right.

Unfortunately, Nashville is going decidedly left.

The Republicans put up some bad candidates against Obama and, at that time, GOP candidates allowed themselves to be jailed raped by the Democrat "media."

As much as I wish Trump would have sometimes kept his mouth shut, he has taught GOP candidates they can fight back against the lies - DeSantis, Cruz, etc. appear to have been paying attention.

Cubans voting red is a big reason why Trump won Florida by so many points.

We moved from California to Arkansas and we are very conservative.

I have California friends moving to Texas and Tennessee.

Liberal Californians move out of the Bay Area to cheaper parts of the state.

Middle class. California which bills itself as the model for america totally fricked over the middle class. ITs a state that will be wealthy and poor, with very little middle class soon.

THis is exactly how progressive policies are supposed to work. OUr modern fuedal system.

You'll be a serf, and be happy.

And if we hold the line, and pass conservative legislation, like Texas has done with abortion, perhaps we can push the Democrats out.

Good plan.

And when it comes to these new immigrants from South of the Border, we should appeal to their spirituality and demonstrate how the Dems are immoral and destructive.

The Wall Street journal did a great story on moving trends during Covid. They didn’t have voting information, but they showed in great detail where people were leaving and going.

California lost population to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Portland, and Boise. North Cali went more to Boise and Portland while South Cali went to Phoenix and Vegas.

New York showed a massive shift to Miami as well as NC and SC.
