Wait, Denmark has a military? If they shoot first they won’t be alive long enough to ask questions. They would be wiped out in about 10-15 minutes.

Nobody’s invading Greenland, you silly poof.
You and the Danes both need to unbunch your panties.

This might be the most ill-informed thing I have ever read.
You’re Putin. Which would you prefer, NATO to still be a functioning alliance or Greenland to be in US hands?
Also you’re just wrong on the “no countries have a decent military.” Most former eastern bloc nations have substantial militaries and the combined active duty personnel of many western nations is hundreds of thousands of troops. They also have been continuing to renew their infrastructure and bolster their forces in the wake of the Ukrainian War.
Adjacent to that, has no one in this thread ever heard of “soft-power”?

Yes, they have a military. They sent troops with us to Afghanistan and some of them even died as a result.

Denmark has also pressured Greenland to limit china's involvement in mining development. The Greenlanders themselves are more involved with courting chinese involvement in mining, and that has a whole lot more to do with American private sector companies not having, to this point, shown great interest in putting out the billions of dollars it would take to develop mining interests there.
So…already infiltrating?

Danes make good pastry that's about it.

So you’re saying we no longer benefit? Souring US ties with the entirety of Europe would have no negative effects? No consequences?
Ah, no, I never said any of that.
Not saying that the US needs to officially conquer other nations, but the US has a vastly superior military to any other country in the world, and the strongest economy.
We've got the guns and we've got the money.
We've had a string of Democratic leaders for a while who treat other countries as equals or, at times, even like the US is a subordinate to them.
They aren't equals in terms of power or ability to affect change and action in the world. They just aren't, and that's a fact.
Do we lord that over them, abuse them, act arrogantly toward them, troll them, bully them, etc.?
No, I don't think there's any advantage in that. I believe in a benevolent dictatorship (even though dictatorship is not the right word, I trust you know what I mean).
But I also believe in American hegemony, and I also believe in the US always acting in our own interests. Even if other countries don't like it (and often, they won't...that's a fact to understand and accept, not something to be afraid of IMO).
I think it's highly unlikely that Trump will invade Greenland during peacetime (if war were to break out with China, that's a different scenario). There are ways to give the US what we want out of Greenland without doing that. And I think that is how the situation will ultimately resolve.
The talk of "taking" Greenland IMO is simply Trump being Trump. Why achieve an objective calmly and peacefully when you can stir crap up and bully and insult people to end up at the same place?
Trump is and always be a mixed bag. I like that he will make the strategic move to strengthen our access to Greenland...no Democratic and few other Republicans would do that, and it's strategically important because of China.
I don't like that he (and his cult members) treat everything like it's professional wrestling and the cult hoots like baboons when he "owns" people without any good reason for doing so.
Trump needs to understand the joke about the dad and son bulls. The son says to the dad, "Hey Dad, see all those cows down in the pasture? Let's run down there and frick one each." And the dad says, "Naw, son. Let's walk down there and frick them all."
When you are in a position of dominance, there's no need to act as crass and immature as Trump always acts. It actually makes you look weaker, because you come off as though you have no self-discipline or character. When you have to put someone else down to feel superior, you look weak. When you simply are very confident that you ARE superior, you don't feel the need to bully and troll etc.
That's what I think.
