Because Thune has already explained that it’s about the filibuster.
Changing the filibuster rules could come back to haunt the GOP in the future. Both sides can use it.

This acts on the premise that once the left gets power back they won’t nuke it and strike.
They will do it because the left doesn’t stop doing something because the right might gain the gun. Now is that because they can’t think 3 steps ahead or perhaps they are more agressive.
So if you know that once the opposition can do it they will do it, it becomes more needed to strike first. It’s just bad faith if they think the left will hold off.
Also you nuke it for this since the save act would make it very difficult for the left to ever win again

Being a GOP voter is like having a total failure and loser for a child. You never stop cheering for them and hoping they succeed, but, you know in your heart that the kid is a total loser and will never succeed at anything, never win anything.

The premise is that the GOP has to navigate a world after Trump leaves office.
Right now, the Trump admin tactics and the lack of any leadership from Speaker Johnson in the House has resulted in unfavorability for the GOP.
The Dems already squandered their image and are in rebuild mode now.
And now the GOP is squandering their image. So they have to think about the future.

I've only really followed politics a few years, im still fuzzy on intricacies, how does Thune have so much power. How is he allowed to control so much. We are never going to have the house and the 60 we would need to pass something like the Save Act. Never. We shouldve blown up the filibuster day 1 and passed bill after bill fixing their mess. These Rhinos obviously don't want to fix the country. We will be sorry once the dems do it

The GOP has the image issue because it fought Trump.
It’s a pretty clean if the save act happens the chance the left gets power back in its current structure is almost 0. So you nuke the filibuster so you can put the save act in. If the left gets power back they are nuking it and stacking courts and once that happens plus their massive illegal invasion gets the right to vote the country is lost or it’s going to be a real bad violent watering of the tree of liberty to save it.
So the GOP after sweeping elections and having the left pinned down is going to end up losing, getting the filibuster nuked on them and be losers. If no one trust the elections and nothing stops the dems from cheating then it’s over for the gop anyways

Yea no one in DC at least in Congress wants this fixed. They want tax payers to pay them and then pay for their sexual escapades and have those hidden and be a whore for China Israel India the MIC, tech bros whoever is tossing ones except the mother fricking citizens they claim to represent
