The 66-year-old Caraway, who has also served as the city's interim mayor, admitted to accepting $450,000 in bribes and kickbacks from two key figures in the scandal that last year brought down the school bus agency Dallas County Schools; Bob Leonard, who owned the stop-arm camera company that took millions from DCS; and Slater Swartwood Sr., an associate of Leonard's.

He will serve time in a Fed prison.. There are many other Dallas public officials (including current mayor) who are extremely nervous as the Feds are not done with their investigations.

You know they are Democrats when news articles conveniently leave out party affiliation.
When was the last time you read about a corruption case involving a Republican where their party affiliation was not mentioned even once?

Dallas County is a blue island in a sea of red. I am so shocked this happened there of all places.

Carraway pleaded guilty in a deal. He is rolling over and there are surely more people involved. The feds have gone after John Wiley Price before and I would not be surprised if they are going after him again this time. A worthy cause to be sure.

At a cost to the city of $500K. I wonder how much of that went back into Caraway's pocket?

Dallas Democratic Mayor made this statement today which many are saying is racist..
Rawlings said that what happened to Dwaine Caraway is an example of why the city needs to improve what he called “economic inclusion.”
“Too often public servants that come from poor parts of our city are caught in and let themselves be caught in a trap around money, around economic inclusion, because they don’t have any money,” Rawlings said.
The Mayor said a person’s financial upbringing isn’t an excuse for crime but that economic inclusion needs to be addressed in the City of Dallas.
Caraway faces up to 10 years in prison. His sentencing date is set for mid-December.
WBAP Article
So the mayor is saying that people who come from low income areas of the city, this type of behavior should be expected because due to their environment they can't be expected to have any moral character?? WTF!!

The swamp is full of corrupt republicans right now. Trumps hose must be clogged.

The Whole Republican Party Seems to Be Going to Jail Now

(1) The trial of Paul Manafort, which has featured the accusation that President Trump’s campaign manager had embezzled funds, failed to report income, and falsified documents. His partner and fellow Trump campaign aide, Rick Gates, confessed to participating in all these crimes, as well as to stealing from Manafort.
(2) Yesterday, Forbes reported that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross may have stolen $120 million from his partners and customers. Meanwhile Ross has maintained foreign holdings in his investment portfolio that present a major conflict of interest with his public office. (The “Don’t worry, Wilbur Ross would never do anything unethical just to pad his bottom line” defense is likely to be, uh, unconvincing to the many people filing suit against Ross for allegedly doing exactly that.)
quote:
(3) Also yesterday, ProPublica reported that the Department of Veterans Affairs is being effectively run by three Trump cronies, none of whom have any official government title or public accountability. The three, reports the story, have “used their influence in ways that could benefit their private interests.”
(4) And then, this morning, Representative Chris Collins was arrested for insider trading. Collins had been known to openly boast about making millions of dollars for his colleagues with his insider knowledge. He is charged with learning of an adverse FDA trial, and immediately calling his son — from the White House! — urging him to sell his holdings.

isn't he the one that wanted the NRA to cancell their convention in Dallas?

is much worse than Caraway. Price had been under investigation, then indictment for years, but eventually skated on a number of federal charges when he went to trial last year.
Caraway was no saint, but he occasionally had a decent idea or would surprise people with a reasonable stance or vote.
John Wiley is openly racist and flaunts his crooked ways.

But but but I am told there are too many blacks in prison that the ratio does not match the Free Population of a Americans and white ARE the reason for this

John Wylie Price should be from New Orleans with what he has been able to get away with. He is the Marc Morial of Dallas but actually much worse. He openly claims his hate for white people in city council meetings. The Feds completely botched the case against him last year. Rawlings has to go. He is a compete turncoat on the people who elected him.

I didn't ask if you've ever read a single article about wrongdoing where a Dem's party affiliation WAS mentioned.
I asked if you've ever read about a corruption case involving a Republican where party affiliation was completely and explicitly not mentioned at all?
In this case, you have half a dozen or so local Democrat leaders involved in outright bribery and malfeasance while in office.
So I ask again.....can you find a single article about an elected Republican involved in a corruption scandal where there is no mention of party affiliation?
I won't hold my breath.
