The literary style is called an allegory.
And it’s definitely intended to make the audience think of Jesus.
The writer for the Daily Wire should have learned about allegories by 8th grade, unless he went to government schools.

The lion is clearly stated to be male in the books
“Safe? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you."
Even taking the Christian imagery from the story it’s a HUGE departure from the books to be female.
Add in that the author specifically states it’s an allegory for Jesus you have successfully offended people on both a reading perspective and religious perspective.
At this point who is the audience going to be?

So they are redoing The lion, the witch and the wardrobe again? And now using Meryl Streep to voice Aslan? I mean it's Hollywood...they just casted Ellen Page to play a warrior in the Odyssey. Why wouldn't they cast a female voice to play a male lion - who symbolizes Jesus? It is what Hollywood does best.
