DACA End Game

How will this ever be resolved?
I can see the republicans and President compromising on the issue; however, I atleast hope the one thing they will not do is just give voting rights to the illegal aliens that are undermining our immigration system.
The problem is this is the only thing the democrats care about at all. They just want a potential new voting block to play identity politics with in this country.
I honestly think the illegal aliens who have not committed additional crimes outside of breaking immigration laws will be given some sort of legal status by the President and republicans.

Why is it a problem to send them back to their non-shithole, wonderful home countries?

now that's a tough question to answer

DACA is just the new branding for amnesty (unpopular word and policy).
Once they get it (and they'll get some form) - then the next invasion will start in earest - it takes about 25 to 30 years between these amnesty movements and the numbers get bigger every time.
Since the last one, 1/3 of Mexico has moved from there to here, just for example. I'm not anti-immigration, per se, but the economy is changing. We don't need large masses of uneducated (even in their native language), unskilled, folks who are leaving their *expletive deleted* home country to come here, with no pause for assimilation, and restructuring areas of this country to appear like their *expletive deleted* home country that they fled because of conditions there.
Or their children. If "America and Americans First" is racist and bigoted, then so be it.

Why haven't they taken the steps to become citizens or legal residents, after all these years?

It's simple. Dems want to use the shutdown to get DACA for nothing. Without DACA as a bargaining chip, republicans are on much weaker ground in negotiations on broader immigration goals.
Amnesty, at some point, is almost inevitable. Dems want the flow of illegals to continue unabated and want to be seen as the champions of that future "protected class".

This is the most simple fix ever. Send them back, and let them apply to come here LEGALLY.
This is where the liberals want to die, let them die. A govt shut down is always good for a reset.

I think, because they are illegal, they cannot start the process of citizenship without first going back to their home country.
Thus, the conundrum.
I don't think they should benefit from breaking the rules in the first place.

The next dem President (or the states in which they live) will give them voting rights

Because the Democrats would lose 20 million votes, give or take.

"Democrats are unhappy with American voters, so they want to import new ones."
Simple as that.

I honestly think illegal aliens who have not committed additional crimes since entering the U.S. should be deported last.

The problem is they all were brought here by their parents and were raised here. They didn't make the choice to break the law, and this is the only home they've known.
Granting them protections does NOT give them the right to vote, so I don't really get that argument.

The bigger question is, why are Dems more concerned about the rights of persons illegally in this country than the rights of unborn persons that are here legally?

I think it would be seen as buying votes at that point. Democrats would want to hide it under this larger issue.
I would be ok if they serve in the military to gain the right to vote.
I don’t agree with amnesty, but I think legal status will be given. That is plenty enough compromise to get everything on immigration reform to stop it from happening again and border security.

Life isn’t fair and the situation threatens to undermine our whole system.

Thats kinda how I see it playing out to. Its going to be resolved by a bipartisan immigration bill. They need to pass the CR and get away from the bad press and hammer out a bill.
End chain immigration, move to a merit based immigration system, and Fund a border wall. DACA residents can stay if they qualify based on the new merit based system, and they have to apply and go through the citizenship process like every other immigrant. Number of immigrants the US accepts over the next decade will be adjusted to account for DACA recipients.
Both sides give up something, both sides get something. Thats how compromise should work. I know that many think giving them any sort of pathway is ridiculous, and I see that point of view (that we should not reward people who broke the law (directly/or indirectly). But I would trade that if we get much tougher on immigration with border security/merit based system/ and end of chain immigration.

It's not only that but they don't pay taxes and send a lot of their income back to Mexico. They are leaches on our economy and government services.
Any job that is cash based they have just about took over. You can not compete with them when they pay their help peanuts. The majority of lawn care businesses are going to Mexicans.

If they have been voting, that is a felony. And should result in immediate deportation with no hope of obtaining legal status.
