Most large chains like this will let you just walk out the door with as much as you can carry instead of get in a PR war or some lawsuit situation.
Not even to mention the cities that wont even prosecute theft under a certain amount.

100% correct. I worked for a big box retailer in college and you are not allowed to touch people who are stealing. I mean why the hell would anyone want to anyway

Also true, the place where I worked did absolutely nothing even when we had definitive video proof that someone was stealing.

I watched a 22 minute long CNBC "Food Desert" segment on Youtube last week, that blamed everything under the Sun as to why the flight and blight..
It even had one story of a Cali Trader Joe being run out of a needed area of the hood, due to false fear of gentrification pricing out folks from nearby residences..
Never once did it and the young whispering reporter broach epic shrinkage and the obvious truth.
