Wrong. Not the ones who moved out in the 80s and 90s. It was crime, poor services and poor schools. But mostly crime.

The ones being pushed out now are the lower wage earners, and they're being pushed out by the liberal transplants who find Brooklyn and SF too expensive. Those same transplants are pushing to down the statues, not the black folk the sane hipsters are forcing out of the city.

Ironically the hipsters will get bored of NOLA, move on, and the Detroitization of NOLA will begin as the housing market collapses.

Because why take a chance on a vote when you can guarantee removal (what he wants) without it

Even if a majority of the city population lean towards removal, There is a large chance that it is simply not a big enough care or concern to those that would likely vote to remove them, the issue is not enough motivation on its own to get them out to the polls to vote. Hell its hard enough to get people to vote for a president. He knows the constituency, why risk losing because of low voter turnout and a coalesced Opposition group when he can just force it through and get what he wants

I live in the burbs. I'm considered poor in my neighborhood. My house is only 7000 sq ft. My contractor is currently building a 15,000 sq ft house, a 16000 sq ft house, an 18,000 sq ft house and a 20,000 sq ft house in our hood. We po'.

What he wants is to make a splash and get national headlines. A vote and peaceful removal would not do that. He sold out NOLA for his own good (in his mind).

What is the average price per square foot in your neighborhood?

It's about 300 dollars per square foot in Nola.

I'm a free market guy...your trailer park probably doesn't come close.

It's the transplants who have taken over and are systematically turning NOLA into Seattle.
what's wrong with that? I think we can agree NOLA was stagnant before Katrina.

Not as high as nola. Our hood has different sections with varying qualities of construction. Average ranges from 180-200.

Thanks! I failed to mention that my secondary residence, in/on Highland Beach (Fl) goes for over 700/sq ft. You shitheads really have no idea. I pay more in property taxes in Louisiana than you probably make in a year.

Remind me again when you expect to vote on every other issue that these people were elected to represent us with?

That's not what I'm saying and you are being a bit hysterical in generalizing my comment to that degree.

Or why is this one uniquely deserving of city wide vote?

It should be a state wide vote, only in my opinion.
