New York Governor Andrew Cuomo defiantly rebuffed calls for his resignation as more women have come forward with sexual harassment allegations against him, saying Sunday "there is no way" he will step down. But shortly after his press conference, New York State Senate Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, a Democrat, said he "must resign."

"Everyday there is another account that is drawing away from the business of government," Stewart-Cousins said in a statement Sunday afternoon. "We have allegations of sexual harassment, a toxic work environment, the loss of credibility surrounding the COVID-19 nursing home data, and questions about the construction of a major infrastructure project. New York is still in the midst of this pandemic and is still facing the societal, health and economic impacts of it. We need to govern without daily distraction. For the good of the state Governor Cuomo must resign."

quote:

"I was elected by the people of the state, not by politicians," Cuomo told reporters Sunday. "I'm not going to resign because of allegations. The premise of resigning because of allegations is actually anti-democratic."

Cuomo has spent the weekend reaching out to state leaders and legislators telling them he will not resign, two people familiar with the conversations told CBS News. In telephone calls, the governor is repeating what he has said publicly: Be patient and allow an investigation overseen by New York Attorney General Letitia James to proceed.

This will blow over like the Virginia Governor's blackface scandal. He just has to wait out the news cycle. If PDJT was still in office, you would barely hear about this.

Love how #metoo/believe all women supporters suddenly discover the merits of due process when the dogs of PC turn on them!

I mean let’s be honest, these “victims” are only coming forward to take the spotlight off the nursing home fiasco. If Cuomo goes down, I want him going down for the thousands he KNOWINGLY murdered. Not because he said he wanted to watch a girl eat an entire sausage

Cuomo - “I’m leaving office over my dead body!”

Hillary - “Hold my beer.”

He has a point here. Until there is something proven, allegations are just that.

However, the nursing home fiasco is way more than an allegation at this point.

Cuomo is an a-hole murderer....but I wouldn't resign over allegations either.

This is just a distraction from him killing old people anyways.

Exactly.

If he had an R behind his name, he would be hounded to his dying day.

If you "believe all women" then there really is no such thing as an accusation though, is there? It's a stated fact by a woman. He is, therefore, refusing to resign despite the FACT that he did these things, by virtue of them having been claimed by women, who must be believed.

I have less of a problem with him perving on a bunch of Democrat Chicks who probably treated him like some kind of god anyway (gross as that is), than the fact that he murdered old people to inflate his death count and get more federal money, all while criticizing anyone who believed that lockdowns were useless and taking a victory lap and writing a book about how awesome he is.
