What happened is the Astros had to have something to bitch about.
If I were the plate Ump, I would take a look and decide "Play Ball!"
Then tell MLB to give an official ruling later. They'll change their minds several times anyway ....

Yep. I remember Chad Jones having to color the lettering on his glove w a black sharpie during a game in 2009 because the ump said it was distracting. The only reason this is a story is because of what was on the glove
