Exactly this

Tariffs are a tax, which stymies growth and inflation and therefore Trump wanted Powell to offset it by priming the economy. But Powell is either too stupid or too partisan

Come on now, Rogerthenutscrubber has forgotten more than President Trump knows. Trump has no plan.

Tariffs have always been deflationary, why do you think they used them? Just research them, don’t listen to the media and TDS people

Biggest surprise today beyond Core CPI plunge ?

Strength in USD given Trump is telling you he is appointing somebody who takes a chainsaw to Fed Funds & who got supporting CPI today

In due time, maybe the end of Vance's second term, we may finally be able to end the FED.

There is a reason why we just can't eliminate all the fraud all at once like Elon wanted to do. It would have put the whole economy in the tank.
It has to be done gradually. Years in fact.

Same with the prosecutions.

Not going to get enough appointments through with this Congress.

But we can break from Europe, and Isreal.

Not really. Did you know that the previous BLS numbers for labor participation rate made no distinction between hired Americans and Hired H1b's or illegals? That's because, an employer reports a hire as only a hire. So it's just a number. Don't you think, that the numbers should accurately depict citizens employed vs. non-citizens or at least make distinctions between the 2?

wish Trump would tariff more and talk more about eliminating the 16th amendment. This country's government was funded by tariffs longer than it was funded by the 16th amendment. The 16th amendment is theft.

Truth and had this amendment not existed our govt wouldn’t be the behemoth it is today

Imagine a world of no income or corporate taxes and only sales/consumption taxes and tariffs with smaller limited government. Imagine the economic growth that would bring. The incentive to invest here due to tariffs and no corporate taxes plus an American consumer with more disposable income would be too hard to companies to pass up

yep. Congress with spending is like a woman and a closet.... no matter how big it is, she will always buy enough to fill it to the brim.

The biggest issue is they are rewarded for spending in re-elections. The poltics of a Congressman are national, that's why you see a Pelosi talking about doing shite in FL or a Graham complaining about something CO is doing. But elections are local- the more money they spend locally, the higher the chance they get to keep THEIR power. Which only leads to a patronage system where the donors matter the most.

You won't fix [local] electorates... any of them regardless of IQ, demographics, race, religion, etc. So the only fixes are A) term limits, B) balanced budget amendment, and C) take all but constituents out of the campaign donations for the legislative branch. But that requires them to work against their own personal self-interest. That's not going to happen either unless a lot of blood is shed.

OR.... like you said, get a smaller closet.
