Are you saying sensor, as in detection of virus?

It appears more as a tool to spread fear and disinformation. Or a tool to monitor behaviors, ie your travel and shopping or being in crowds.

Ok, did you do any research? I have an iphone.. but I did it for you.

Your android regularly gets updates in the background. I guess this is different than IOS where you usually have to manually opt in/terms of service, etc.

Anyway,

"Your Android phone regularly gets updates in the background. The Exposure Notifications System was introduced in an update to Google Play Services.

The system is turned off by default. This technology only works if you decide to opt-in. If you change your mind, you can turn it off at any time.

Most Android phones get this update. Some Huawei phones may not get the update."

Maybe do some research instead of starting bullshite.

Oh yeah, you can believe that for sure...

Sure you can turn it off, we even installed a little switch to make you feel better about turning it off...

I think that’s how they were attempting to do contact tracing. In theory, it’s the only way to do it but frick all of that. China Virus is an asshoe and the government over reach is worse.

The help page also says that in addition to opting in you need to have downloaded an app from your regional health authority.

quote:

Use the COVID-19 Exposure Notifications System on your Android phone
To help understand whether you've been exposed to someone who reports having COVID-19, you can turn on Exposure Notifications. If you change your mind, you can turn it off.

To use the system, you need to download an official app from your region’s government public health authority.

If you have COVID-19, you may share that info with your app to help alert the people you've been in contact with.
If you've been exposed to someone who has shared they have COVID-19, your app will notify you and give you further instructions.

It's definitely not the only way to do contact tracing, as it's been done for over a century, but it's definitely an efficient way to do it, especially with the prevalence of the virus (and prevalence of phones).

Ok! So it is spyware that reads your communications and notifies people in your proximity if you have possibly gotten the virus and likewise spys on your neighbors so it can notify you. What else is it spying on??

Following the application of this technology to its logical conclusion is pretty obvious. This just makes your phone ping everyone else’s phone is a small area. Right now they say it’s to predict probable Covid cases, but really it’s to track the people you normally interact with.

They’ll use this to dock your social credit score if you’re interacting with “problematic” people.

You best watch out. Next thing you know it will tell you where other people are on the road so you can avoid traffic.

This particular update was pushed out automatically a few weeks ago, I don't believe anyone can opt out of it. But you can turn off notifications, which is what I did. I sure as hell don't want to be notified every time I cross paths with someone who tested positive or someone who was near someone whose uncle's sister's 3rd cousin tested positive.

LOL that anyone thinks you are just NOW being spied on. There's a reason the NSA builds multi billion dollar data centers.
