Common flu kills about 12,000 a year in the US, so 1,000 a month
This thing has already killed over 1,000 and we have not hit peak exposure yet
My old man lived through the Spanish Flu and it was brutal (killed more than WWI)

Thats nice.
And if someone has no interest in that crap?
*you seem to be one of these people who think..."I like that...works for me. Everyone should do that"?
What measures do you think should be taken against people who have no interest in choking that crap down?
Should there be some kind of penalty?

They are not strong measures. Reducing your intake of saturated fat, trans fat, sugar, and combining that with increasing your intake of foods high in fiber is simply one way to reduce your risk, per the CDC.
And this has been stated for years.
So you find no problem with people eating what they choose to eat...or are you one of those anti choice kinda people??

I don't care what people eat, but when you have people wondering why there are such high rates for heart disease and global pandemics that come from eating animals, such as swine flu, bird flu, & COVID-19, I'd like to provide them reasons

Bullshitt. We are already at about 23,000.

23,000 vs 1000.
Again...go on record and show your fear. How many deaths do you expect in the US in the next 2 months?
What do you guess the number dead will be in the same time frame for the seasonal flu?

Dairy products are the cause of global pandemics??
Why are they so rare then?? The entire planet eats meat and dairy every day..but these conditions are the rare exception to daily life...don't you agree??

That said, how many are dying vs the seasonal flu?
The whole point of the stay in place orders and what not is to keep the bulk numbers from reaching flu levels.
And yeah it is hard to say right now what the death rate is, but realistically, its higher than the flu. Look at italy where it is really bad. The flu never gave them this problem;
Ideally you don't want 38 million people getting this over the next 6 months like the flue.
Because the death rate is absolutely higher than the flue.

I thought you mentioned dairy as one of those foods that should be eaten sparingly?
Unless your talking about eating diseased bats, eating meat doesn't cause these rare pandemics either.

So swine flu came from a bat? Interesting

You're reaching.
I thought it was obvious the context was the current pandemic.
In context to your seeming blanket statement, do you believe that from an abundance of caution, people should not eat meat because some anomaly like swine flu happens once in a lifetime?
Interesting.
Posted on 3/26/20 at 5:19 pm to Dale51
No, I was merely stating that most recent pandemics have evolved from people eating animals. Not that a pandemic will spark whenever someone eats meat.

I don’t have fear.
I just look at data and trends. I don’t have time right now to crunch numbers and come up with an estimate.
Making a guess absent data analysis would be likely on feeling as you suggest.
