re: Coulter: How Do We Flatten the Curve on Panic?
This article was published yesterday:

quote:

We’ll get no BREAKING NEWS alerts for the regular flu deaths (so far this season, more than 23,000, compared to 533 from the coronavirus).

Today the death count stands at 1,177 and was over 1,000 yesterday. Was this article written 3-4 days ago?

Probably. You don't necessarily disagree with her overall point, though, do you? I mean none of the thousands of seasonal flu deaths made any sort of "news" - no American death is newsworthy right now unless it is a celebrity or Wuhan virus victim.

I just wonder why that is...

I don't think the current death rate is as critical as the infection rate and what happens if hospitals become overwhelmed...if that happens then the death rate becomes notable because deaths will be occurring due to the lack of care capabilities rather than the virus.

It's unfortunate that everything is political to so many.

They are saying 23K THIS YEAR (including the Chinaman Fu Flu) but normal numbers are about 12 K. Many killed already may have been Chin Flu but no tests to confirm.

A) if 12 is normal and we have roughly double, chances are this new is a culprit

B) This is not normal in that 30% show no symptoms and the incubation period is weeks, not days.

Do you understand the difference between linear and exponential?

I already lost someone I knew to this sumb*tch and it is not "normal" like some folks are saying. Will be interesting as to "reported" vs "real" numbers as I know a private hospital that has 8 cases and none have been reported.

Or that.

Trump has done a fantastic job to this point. I think we can all agree on that.

Besides walmart no one is hiring and everybody is laying off till this thing is over. Anyone surprised? When the market didn’t crash this morning, I figured we are headed in the right direction

No, I was merely stating that most recent pandemics have evolved from people eating animals.
Swine flu is not transmitted to humans by eating pork.

I am probably safe in assuming most of your other “objective facts” in this thread are sourced as thoroughly as that one.

Common flu kills about 12,000 a year in the US, so 1,000 a month

Influenza strands kill 30-60k average...

Turning off Fo- News would flatten the curve of ignorance. It’s like watching a dog chase his own tail every time I see a thread title with Hannity or Coulter in it.

I'm not a fan of Hannity and Coulter isn't Fox News. But I'll say this - Fox is far more open to different views being expressed than the other news networks. Example - name a talk show host on CNN or MSNBC that is as skeptical/critical of Dems as Carlson is of Republicans.

Funny how as consumption of meat has decreased over the past 40 years, heart disease has increased.

Nor for the more than 3,000 people who die every day of heart disease or cancer
If we started a fuss about this, the meat & dairy industry would raise hell because they the ones causing the majority of these deaths. And politicians don't want to piss off the people putting money in their pockets...but Coulter likely already knows that.

If you think the meat and dairy industries are responsible for our heart disease and cancer issues, you are retarded. Americans have eaten those products for generations, yet look at us now compared to the 1950s. There is more to it that meat and dairy.
