No. That was the missile blowing up. Contrary to what Hollywood would have you believe, most SAMs have a proximity fuse. They explode beside the target.

The failure is that of Iran’s aviation administration. How do you not ground civil aviation flights when your country is lobbing rockets? The pilot should also have refused to take off knowing there were rockets in the air. Terrible all around.
