I’d love for someone to explain to me why a massive drop in energy costs is going to make a president’s chances of re-election worse

Maybe in a state like LA

But nationally? How will cheaper costs, lower business overhead, and a rise in real income (due to lower gas prices) hurt a president?

That’s like saying a massive drop in healthcare prices will hurt a president

All this means to me is my mutual fund is going to purchase more shares at a cheaper price. When the recovery happens I will have benefited greatly.

Thanks Trump!

Of the many Viruses from the corona lineage they are cold/wet seasonal timing, all except for 1. There’s only ~2 months left before corona virus is forgotten. This leaves about 5 solid months of post corona virus recovery.

Who knows what Saudi’s actions will end up meaning for the long term? Cheaper oil is good for some bad for others. Depends on what the duration and net balance is of their actions.

Perception is reality and virus panic plus declining markets will be blamed on him. Not saying anyone else would handle it better, but it is what it is. The good news is there is a lot of time until the election and I think markets will roar once this virus nonsense is gone.

If healthcare prices plunged, would that help or hurt a pres?

I say help

Markets might tumble, but people’s real incomes would rise

Cheaper gas prices harm a sitting President’s chances?

That's were West Coast and Hawaiian refineries get their crude oil from Shipment is cheaper by tanker from ME than by rail from U.S.

Gas prices are going to drop in CA or should like a fricking rock.

The beauty of 90% of American voters is their attention span is 12 seconds long. What happens in March will have zero effect on the election. Now should this carry on through the summer it will be a problem.

It’s amazing but people will jump to wanting whoever is up next when times are unstable, regardless if the other guy is the answer or not.

If things remain unstable for a couple months, Trump will have to try to position himself as the choice of stability and safety. Of course, Trump is incapable of that.

That's my point. I know you take a beating on here, but Biden and the moderate left technocrats will start to look good for wall street and main street if this keeps up.
