Charlie Cook is generally respected as a fair political guru. Things could change but Trump better get his shite together or he's gonna bring down the whole damn Republican Party.

Why are you blaming Trump for the incompetence of republicans in congress? the approval rating for congress is abysmal.

The Republican party is bringing itself down. All of the chaos, violence and racism on display and instead of being a clear voice supporting stability, law and order... the GOP either hid or outright joined arms behind a terrorist group.

Trump is about the only think holding that party together right now. When he's gone, if conservatism is going to survive in any form in this country, I expect the GOP to be left in the dust.

Never heard of the freaker. Cooter Brown said The Repubs are going to sweep because people do not want their shite burned down while the police are told to stand down and watch it happen.

The GOP doesn't need anyone's help in bringing it down. Is doing a fine job all by its lonesome

Amy Walter Report shifts 20 House seats toward Democrats.

She's as predictable as a CNN poll

The republican party is full of cucks and liars.

We need a hard right shift in the GOP. The far left shift of the democrat party must be countered.

There is no reason to make a political move until Biden names his VP nominee.

I can't believe any normal person would have to be persuaded to vote against the Democrats.

That's fricking insane.

It won’t be because of Trump. Trump didn’t lose them the house in 2018. That was Paul Ryan and others. Trump has been putting himself out there on the front line fighting every day for 3-1/2 years against unprecedented opposition.

Its likely because of the percentage of voters who vote straight ticket, and with Biden having such a huge lead over Trump **cough*bullshite*cough** it makes sense to extrapolate house victories as well.

But we all know Biden's lead is just a fantasy.

Then party needs an infusion of new conservative, principled, ballsy candidates.
Present day republicans (establishment) are spineless jellyfish. Pure swamp garbage.

Yeah, that’s what’s bringing the GOP down.

to be fair... I don't think the approval rating of Congress has been above "abysmal" since I was in either middle or high school

I don’t think so. There’s plenty of meat out there that’s not traditionally “right”. As an example, why aren’t Republicans owning free speech? That’s traditionally a liberal ideology but in today’s environment I think Republicans are in a better position to claim it than Democrats. Plus, as a party platform, it can put the Dems in a precarious position of choosing to marginalize their most vocal base (LGBT, SJW, BLM, antifa, academics) or admit they believe in all this cancel culture crap that the majority of the population hates.

It's pretty simple. Get back to America and unity as Americans. Stress the ideological beauty of the core values America was founded on, point out that even the flaws have been addressed time and time again with those values in mind and show the absolute chaos and ugliness that has resulted from distancing ourselves from those values in the name of "diversity", "racial justice" or the myriad other names given to divisive identity politics.

But to sell America, you can't readily continue to sell out its citizens for cheap labor and Chinese sweatshops so a hefty portion of the globalist-bought "right" will always shy away from pushing that message. It's too nationalistic, populist, xenophobic or whatever else they can come up with to cover for their corruption.
