Convinced COVID-19 is a Trial Balloon

Suspending civil liberties, vastly expanding the role of gov’t, potentially using war time powers to nationalize companies to their own ends, rushing an unprecedented spending bill through Congress with very little debate. All over what MIGHT happen. Sound familiar? Sounds EXACTLY like what the Green New Deal clowns have been saying.
I’m even more convinced that this hysteria is a trial balloon for something bigger. Not sure how else you explain this irrational response?

I've considered that it could be a trial run for some future event. It has exposed many weaknesses and made abundantly clear why we need to move manufacturing back here, at least on essential items/goods.

Newsflash: If a company needs a bailout they should be classified as "nationalized" and treated as such moving forward.

I think we can agree that all these concerns can be met without forcibly closing businesses or imposing quarantines or curfews. This is a free country (or was). If you feel concerned for your safety, you can take any reasonable precaution you deem fit. There’s no need to infringe on my rights.
