Sure that is why George Washington and Thomas Jefferson sold their massive land holdings and both sold their land, stopped doing business and trade with England and France

Oh shite, they didn't.

Not that I think he should, but he could do it with one agreement. Put it all in the control of a trustee.

He put it in the control of his son's. How can a trustee walk in with no knowledge of the business and take over? Like was stated in the press Confrence, even if he put it in the hands of a trustee he would still be aware of all his business dealings he can't forget that they exist

Your original quote failed to note that Trump only discussed donating profits made from his hotels - not any other source of profits from foreign governments. What if a foreign government used his golf course in Scotland? What if he sold land to a foreign government?

His golf courses and casinos are resort hotels. Your selling land to a foreign government hypo is so obviously ridiculous the it doesn't warrant a response.

That's actually very interesting. Do you have some resources/links re: Washington and Jefferson conducting business with foreign governments while in office?

Why doesn't Trump sell his share of his company to his children? If they can't afford it he could go public and sell his interest there. It really wouldn't be that hard for him to eliminate the appearance of impropriety

Where would his son's get funding for billions to purchase? In addition, Trump would then get a very large tax bill for the sale.

How Long do you think it takes to file paperwork and bring a company public? Who would buy stock if non of people that ran the company are running it now.

The reality is, there is no easy answer to his businesses. His solution is logical considering the situation

Yes American history.

The emoluments clause never was intended to be read like the libs are reading relating to Trump.

If a hotel room has a price of $500 a night and 500 is paid that is value for value.

Obama taught Constitutional Law and that did not stop him from doing some of the things he did.

The Trump Organization has non-hotel foreign holdings. The towers in Istanbul for example. One is supposed to be business offices and the other residential - no mention of a hotel in either.

Are you actually under the impression that governments do not engage in the act of buying real property?

It isn't anything new. You can find the info if you look for it.

George and Thomas had massive working plantations and continued to operate them selling products world wide during their presidencies.

Fair Value for value isn't an emolument worry.

Did they sell and make a profit from foreign governments while in office? That would be very interesting to read about.

I have no problem admitting that I voted for Johnson. He was a complete flop as a candidate, but at the end of the day I couldn't support the policies of either Trump or Hillary, and think both are very low character individuals, so I voted to support 3rd party momentum.

I have no idea. If they currently don't they could in the future.

I'm just wondering why Trump is only willing to donate money made from foreign governments made from his hotel. The Trump organization has diverse property holdings and could profit from foreign governments in many ways outside of his hotels.
