I think it’s really just one specific live event that Soros and them finagled the rights to and released the live album. Probably a pretty good investment and business endeavor, truth be told, considering her popularity. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knighting for Soros. Hell I wouldn’t piss on em if he were on fire.

None of those are "conspiracy theory." They are either established fact or very very high probability. Correct?
If you believe it’s true then in your world it is all true. That’s all that matters these days. You’ve created a wonderful reality for yourself. I hope you find happiness within it.

quote:Not to side track the "conspiracy thread," but Taylor Swift took an interesting, savvy tack in the Soros thing. Her previous label (Big Machine) sold its artist rights to an Allen Klein type figure named Scooter Braun. Those rights included a number of artists along with Swift's first six albums.
I think it’s really just one specific live event that Soros and them finagled the rights to and released the live album.
Swift dislikes Braun. She objected to the sale, but had no legal say in it. Braun was financially backed by Soros and the Carlyle Group in the transaction.
Swift explored her options, and realized as she maintained production rights, she could re-record each of the six original albums Braun, Soros, et al held rights to. She would have all rights to the re-recorded covers. As she proceeded, it was an "Oh shite!" moment for Braun, Soros & Co. They had access to an as of yet unreleased live 2008 Swift recording. In an effort to profiteer, they released the live recording without Swift's permission or production input. Swift responded with this public statement:
quote:The Braun-Soros effort backfired. The music industry sided with Swift. Streaming platforms replaced her original recordings with her new, nearly identical versions, significantly devaluing Braun's holdings. He eventually did sell at a profit though.
“I want to thank my fans for making me aware that my former record label is putting out an ‘album’ of live performances of mine tonight,” Swift posted in a heated Instagram story post. “This recording is from a 2008 radio show performance I did when I was 18. Big Machine has listed the date as a 2017 release but they’re actually releasing it tonight at midnight. I’m always honest with you guys about this stuff so I just wanted to tell you that this release is not approved by me. I looks like Scooter Braun and his financial backers, 23 Capital, Alex Soros and the Soros family and The Carlyle Group has seen the latest balance sheets and realized that paying $330 MILLION for my music wasn’t exactly a wise choice and they need money.”
