I think we are on the same page.

We aren't starting from DACA has to stay. We are starting from "We, Rs, would like them to stay too".

There was a quote from a Congressman yesterday that fits that perfectly: "We can't even reach an agreement on the places where we agree."

Agreed, but they never become citizens and cannot ever vote without going back to country of origin and entering the legal way.

Only path to citizenship: 8 years active duty military.

I honestly think you should start an honest thread whether people think obama is truly gay and michelle is a man. I think you'd be surprised. If more people come out to call the believers crazy, I'll agree to tone down my annoyance and not post as often. I just really think there's gonna be more than you think.

Trump has tethered ‘building the fence’ to a DACA deal...because he knows it’s unpopular.

You were quite the mess this morning accusing me of sexually assaulting my own children...but...by the way, if we ever meet, you'll need to apologize.

Trump has backed down from the wall notion of border to border to a wall system.

He's compromised.

If DHS determines some wall, some fence, some cameras and some humans are part of the solution, why is that a non-starter?

DHS Secretary during liberal grilling yesterday said that it was a wall system to include many components not just a "wall".

That may be the position Trump and the Republicans have adopted, as if that is going to insulate them from the attacks and demagoguery that has been part and parcel to this issue.

Allowing the dreamers to stay, effectively makes them anchor babies. How can you let a 16 year old girl stay, but deport her parents? Can't happen.

They have to go back. Maybe with a "preferred" immigrant status to begin the process of naturalization, but their parents are criminals, and must be deported. They must go back with their parents. Maybe if they are of age they can stay, if they are gainfully employed, and have never been in trouble with the law.

Start that thread. I have no interest in that subject.

I'm trying to solve real problems here, dammit.

Thats the issue. They see my handle and could be trying to troll. You're much more likely to get the real response. You hold the power, you can help.

That's a possibility. I don't see much wrong with that other than the Dems won't go for it of course.

LOL, I don't hold any power here. If I did, I'd ban people for accusing them of sexually assaulting their own children.

Im telling you, and you're trying to dodge it. More people would come out saying hes secretly gay and michelle is a man than not. You could start the thread and see just how far the board is. You do hold that power. Try it.

We've seen that thread before, oldprawg.

We don't really think Michelle is a dude, but Barry is clearly on the downlow.

Well, it certainly helps to have a starting point.

It seems that that place is "It would be wonderful for Congress to fix a temporary solution and make it permanent".

We'd need all parties to take emotion out of it to get really going.

Nope. This policy should not be re-enacted.

No. I didn't dodge anything. I just don't care. CAn you try to get back to DACA. This is distracting.

DACA was a magical designation for a group of illegals created by Obama's pen. Like you say, the DA stands for Deferred Action. Time for action.

It is very progressive to dice folks up into groups with trendy labels, and then latch onto that label. Why single this group out for special consideration? Why not just negotiate immigration policy that applies across the board?

Not saying kick them out or keep them, but why are DACA folks special?

The Wall is just a horrible idea. Trump said something while campaigning and is now realizing it's a colossal waste of money.

Dreamers, Stay

Revamp immigration policies so that it's easy to come here if you can support yourself.

Agreed. We'd like DACA to go away and we'd like those people to have some sort of status here that allows them to work and study as long as they aren't criminals.

Does that work better?
