Some parents wonder why college tuition is so high. No pun intended.

That's exactly the problem. Along with a liberal society that would allow such to be legal would come massive government programs and related spending that "offers help when you're ready". And the vast majority of folks who indulged in such would most definitely need help eventually, if they even cared to help themselves at that point.

Or not.

Addicts tend to have deeper problems. Drug use is their outlet, but was not their original problem.

I think it’s possible to use various pharmaceuticals every day and not have them cause problems as long as purity and dosage are properly controlled.

I do too, as long as you never have to stop for any reason.

But as purity and dosage needing to be properly controlled, to minimize the risk of problems.....who would do that under a recreational use scenario?

Purity doesn’t alter the habit or change your perspective in anyway. Ask all those dead bodies in Harlem who were shooting the purest there was if they felt leisurely on the cold floor.

there are so many levels to this discussion... but the thought that anyone can ever use heroin casually, blows my mind... there are no success stories using... only survival stories, on the positive side (too few).. Ive seen it rot the souls of people.

This professor is a junkie and has been a junkie for a long time. Just because he’s propped up by that rot we call academia doesn’t mean sniffing H everyday is the same thing as having a puff before bed. It simply isn’t possible.

Yeah, I think any person who believes such hasn't had up close and personal experience with it, or the other commonly used and abused opiates. And that's certainly no knock on anyone who may not have intimate understanding....actually much the opposite it would seem. GnR's "Mr. Brownstone" explains the dilemma about as accurately as could be:

I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said a little better than before

Black Timothy Leary, but not ostrasiced.

Because he's not white.

Last I checked, blacks represent 18% of the population. The vile democrat machine is very machinative.

When you have a job like - University professor of psychology and neuroscience, because you are a privileged minority no need for sobriety. Tenure is his birthright.

An endowment where being black trumps being intelligent and exceptional due to "equal opportunity" as long as you're a black/brown minority.

I have zero problem with him saying or doing anything to himself, just as I would anybody else. As someone who by societal standards is successful myself, I partake in narcotics of my choosing whenever I please. It’s my right as a human. Some would say I’m harming myself with substances of my choosing, but once again, it’s my right, just as it is his or your right.
