She absolutely is a public servant and is paid to take shite from the public.

You’re wrong. Take your L, tyrant.

Apparently he needs the stick for darker conditions and was reported somewhere that he had left his home while still dawn so he could get to jury duty..
That's what the last guy who killed someone with a cane sword said, too.

I wouldn't, if the discussion is about tyranny.

I mean that I would separate them in terms of relative consistency of professionalism.

But sure. In terms of being used to inflict tyranny, governments will happily make use of both.

Guy didn't even seem to really be "giving her shite." He just seemed a bit perturbed. I watched the vid up to the moment he asked if he was being detained, after he clearly showed her the stick that she apparently suspected was a gun, and she said yes.

I can't figure out what occurred up to that point that might have possibly been deemed "detainable." There was no reason not to just let the perturbed guy move along at that point - no reason whatsoever.

The cops "thought" it was a gun for some reason.

And, apparently, their ability to amp themselves down from such a thing is on par with the ability of a 5 year old to accept not getting the cereal with a toy in it.

No, she isn't.

Keep repeating it, but that's not what law enforcement get paid to do.

yeah I'm sure you have nothing to say about her illegal arrest and detention of an innocent person. You are much more concerned that the victim called her exactly what she was. That's gotta sting

It’s the public’s right to say frick you to public servants and she is paid to be one so YES she is paid to take shite bc that’s come with the job she applied for.

But you already know all this….

Maybe not. I would suggest she is paid to not overreact to what she might perceive as someone "giving her shite," though.

I don't know if that's just a semantic difference or not, but I think it should hold true either way.

No.

Much more accurate.

The peace officer has the responsibility of not escalating, and she did exactly the opposite.

She's not fit to be a cop, and neither is her supervisor.

I think enough has been said about that. Posting "I agree" is pretty fricking boring. I'd rather discuss things I don't agree with.

Look dude, I get that you have it in your head that the taxes you probably don't pay mean you're their boss, but that isn't the case.

it is actually a part of it.
citizens have the right to air their grievances to government.
if you are working on behalf of the government, you are a representative of that government, its part of your job.

the SC has ruled that profanity aimed at police officers is protected by the 1st amendment which protects speech defined to redress grievances with the government. Seems they understand that the police represent the government

City of Houston v. Hill (1987)

The sergeant killed his K9 dog by leaving it his car.
I would have fired him and charged him with animal cruelty for that.

Charge him for killing a cop like they would for any non-cop who killed a police K9.

ETA: How did he kill a dog in his car? I have NEVER seen a cop turn off their cruiser.
