It's like trying to help an addict that does not think they need help. The cure is right out in the open and all these media orgs have to do is accept that they cannot force unwanted propaganda on people who don't want it. It's a losing business plan no matter what your selling.

The fix is to just accept that the mass potential audience want facts, truth, and investigative reporting ... Not opinions with no vetted data.

If just one network would change back to real journalism and real hard hitting and challenging reporting, they would own 95% of the ratings.

If you can't give it away, why do you think people will pay for it?

Here’s an out-of-the-box idea for them:

Why not try simply reporting facts and treating your audience as if they are capable of drawing their own conclusions?

Radical I know and probably impossible in today’s “advanced” society.

More opportunity to place ads I suppose. I still highly prefer reading over watching.

I’m so glad CNN Plus failed. I’m getting sick of the “Plus” concept in general. I wish more people wouldn’t support it, but many just sign up for a subscription without even thinking about it.

This sounds like the end for them.

Offering less at a higher price doesn't seem like it will help gain customers.

I also think that pivoting to video will run people off. I remember when FOX sports and CNNSI did this, and I have not been back to their sites since then- I don't want to wait for their ads to play, only to wait longer for their video to run.

Maybe he is brilliant and I am a fool, but it sure sounds like another case of a new CEO coming in to a struggling company, running into the ground with his bad ideas, then escaping with a hefty severance package.

I go to CNN.com with some frequency just as a check against my internal biases, but that slowed down a lot when they started limiting articles to 5 per day without creating a login, which I refuse to do.

If they put articles behind a pay wall, that's a real quick "I'm out" for me.

They missed a golden opportunity. Since Fox turned leftist 4 years ago there was a window to jump into an unoccupied MSM news space. In that 4 years had they turned right, they could have earned the trust of the right and would now be the biggest news site in world. They whiffed and deserve to keep sending laid off workers to learn to code in new careers.

You know deep down they want him back for the ratings.
