You could eat as much as you want. But of only one thing.
IE...Mon: All the T-bone steak you want. Nothing else.
Tue: All the vegetables you want. Nothing else.
Wed: All the fried chicken you want. Nothing else.

At the end of the week you got a balanced diet but the boredom caused you to cut down on portions because it was boring.
