Read it and believe it.

quote:

CNN contributor David Love called the movement fake and a Russian ploy to divide key Democrat voting blocs, the Washington Times reported.

"Republicans want to split up the Democratic political opposition and divide black and Latino voters. And Russia looks like it wants to help here, too,” Love wrote. “The most recent example of this strategy is the #WalkAway hashtag, which is presented as a grassroots effort by former Democrats who are critical of the party’s alleged intimidation, confrontation and lack of civility and want people to walk away from the party.”

A newly created political movement urging liberals to leave the Democratic Party held a march in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

The five-month-old #WalkAway movement advocates that those who feel disillusioned with the party -- which some say uses scare tactics and identity politics -- to come out publically against it.

Several hundred supporters attended Saturday’s mile-long march along Pennsylvania Avenue -- from John Marshall Park near the Capitol to Freedom Plaza near the White House.

"We're walking away from the Democratic Party and literally walking toward freedom," #WalkAway founder Brandon Straka told Fox News.

Abortion started off with just a few. Look where we are today. You're one unhinged fricker. You are worth the laughs. Please don't ever realize that you are a clown. We enjoy the entertainment.

Um, there are plenty of YouTube videos, which by definition are not Russian bots. The founder if the movement openly identified himself.

But the real proof is the millions of Obama-Trump voters.

I can't remember when a delusion has been carried this long by people considered mainstream.

I love how Democrats think Republicans and conservatives have all kind of “dog whistles”
they all speak in secret code that they are asked to disavow.

Yet Democrats began the KKK and their idea of directly disavowing it, is claiming that some time during the late 60s the Republican Party secretly adopted it.

Even if that’s true, does it diminish the voices of the democrats who have walked away for you?

Let’s say the first 5000 #walkaway twitter posts were all faked by russia or the gop or whomever. In yiur mind, does this hypothetical origin then diminish the decision of former democrats who empathized with it and decided they should, in fact, walk away?

#walkaway is a purely rhetorical argument, and if we are at the point where we are overarchingly dismissing rhetorical argument solely because we don’t like the people making them, then our political system might be in some trouble.

I know several hundred is small by rally standards, but you gotta remember this is DC. Takes some courage to participate in an anti-dem march there. And I know this is a small sample size too, but I’ve got a former dem friend who has latched onto the walkaway narrative fully. When you tell him that he’s only walking away because he was tricked by russians, and not because he seems systematic failure by a political group he use to believe in, it only entrenches him further in believing he made the right decision.

Just a word of advice for the future. When you are discussing political movements in a country with a foundational belief in the value if free speech, you need to dispute what is being said, rather than attack who is saying it. Debate the ideas, not the people. It doesn’t matter whether the walkaway hashtag started in some russian basement, it is resonating deeply with some american voters. Now’s the time to figure out why.
